Renewed Faith Discussion

I like the combination of Sorcerous Spyglass and Gideon's Intervention. personally i'm aware of the lack of card draw in white, so i wanted to try and get more value out of my cards with the option to cycle or get card draw with another effect. hence Ritual of Rejuvenation, Renewed Faith, Bright Reprisal. I also want the deck to mainly focus on the Crested Sunmares, so i need plenty of life gain options for both my turn and my opponents. If by some chance i lose the ability to play the sunmares and can't get them back (Lost Legacy), i have Approach of the Second Sun for backup... but yeah. also life gain and the removal in the deck obviously helps keep me alive long enough.

oh my god this deck is boss! I saw your deck at first in the video from Seth ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfWHUFlIWV4 ) and I thought wow this deck is great! so I wanted to build a Peasant version of your deck. (Peasant is a format that's very similar to pauper but you may use 5 uncommons in total in the 75 and it has its own banlist.)

There is still work in progress but I found some really cool cards that would fit really well in the deck: Sunbond, Armadillo Cloak, Vigorous Charge and maybe Renewed Faith, Remote Farm and Radiant Fountain.

I will share my version wiht you when I finished it.

What is your experience playing against fast aggro decks like Ramunap Red? My reason for asking is that your main board has a TON of counterspells but very little board interaction before turn 4 (Gideon of the Trials and Farm making for only 4 interactive spells). If you're on the play against an aggressive deck, this counter suite may do it, but on the draw I think it may be too slow. You have a lot of options to pick from including:

Lifegain: Desert's Hold, Renewed Faith, and Authority of the Consuls (side)

Flat removal: Compulsury Rest and Thopter Arrest

Damage dealing removal: Slash of Talons, Impeccable Timing, and Sandblast

I think the real standouts here are Authority, Slash, Impeccable Timing, and Compulsory Rest. Authority should live in side if you choose to run it, as it will slow aggressive decks and gain you life. Slash and Impeccable timing are both instant speed removal for small creatures, depends on your local meta but Impeccable is probably the better of the two as you can choose to either counter a spell with Censor, or kill a creature on Turn 2. Compulsory Rest on costs 2, but is a permanent solution against Red or Black aggro decks and might be worth a slot even at the loss of tempo. Rest doesn't deal with indestructible, but that's what Cast Out is for

Hey! This is great, very similar to a list I am working on. I am running Aerial Responder instead of Metallic Mimic and Desert's Hold rather than Renewed Faith. With very limited play it has performed admirably against aggro match ups. How have you found it so far?

Alrighty Then

Fist of all, your mana curve is WAY too high for your land base, with this sort of mana cure, you should be at 22 lands at the ABSOLUTE least. Even with a drastically lower curve, you'd still probably need 17 lands at least. Either way, You really shouldn't be running anything over 4 mana.

Here's a list of quick and easy changes.
