Slate of Ancestry seems better than Minions' Murmurs imo.

You shouldn't HAVE a hand to discard most of the time since you can dump it so easily.

Thanks :) Any suggestions for cards to include in place of the cards I've listed in the description?

Sadistic Hypnotist I can't stress adding this card enough. He literally wins games on the spot with Nath out. I don't know your play group and I know more casual groups frown on discard/Land destruction but I play a Nath deck for my LGS' Commander tournaments: Rapid Land-base Dissolve It's a stax deck, but it wins games fast and consistently, you may find a few cards in there to include.

Great suggestion, and cheap too. Only missing 4 cards now, do you have any other budget suggestions?

looks pretty solid as is, I would put the green cycle land in place of a forest though. It will help you dig for threats faster.

Instill Energy , Seeker of Skybreak , Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx , Elvish Guidance , Concordant Crossroads , Green Sun's Zenith and some other tutors in your price range. Exsanguinate , Genesis Wave and in budget allows Craterhoof Behemoth are great outlets for the mana elves make.

I feel like Waste Not would be good in this list

Gspot: From description: "If you have any suggestions for additions, please suggest what to remove as well and no cards over $3".
Over half your cards are over $3. Any suggestions what to remove for the budget cards you mention?

PlattBonnay: I agree, I think it will be great.

Thanks :) We'll play some more games with the deck and pay specific attention to those cards. If they're mostly underpowered they'll be cut.

Indigoindigo

I really like the deck.

I wonder about the value of Golgari Guildmage

His abilities are pretty steep for not much return.

what about Elvish Vanguard ?

Golgari Guildmage was a cheap filler-card mostly, and an elf to stick with the theme. As I was trying to make this as budget as possible, a lot of good cards didn't make the cut. One of the things I focused on was picking cards that buff my whole board (like Bramblewood Paragon or Elvish Archdruid) and not just themselves.

Gspot is the man to talk to about nath. I can't really think of anything else you'd need that he hasn't already mentioned. Land ramp could be a thing in there. Nature's Lore Explosive Vegetation Skyshroud Claim are worth mentioning. I know there are a lot of elve dorks and that mana probably isn't an issue however I've always been a hyper ramp kinda guy when it comes to anything green. What's better than dropping 2 lands a turn? Dropping 7 each turn because I have issues...

Farseek, Rampant Growth, Cultivate, Kodama's Reach and Explosive Vegetation are all in my binder, and I love ramp too. I don't know what I'd cut, though. Do I even run enough elves?

I think you could add a good 5-10 permanents that make opponents discard or trigger when they do. Some of the elves you've got seem lackluster really. As for cards from your sideboard, I don't really see anything that NEEDS to be in, you know?

Well elf tribal with nath isn't a terrible idea. There are better ways to build him though. Message me on my board about options that are available. Don't want to flood this list with nonessential information. For example you could explain why this general for your girlfriend and how long has she played? I just recently had to make a deck for my girl so I know the troubles :P

Cool list! I love budget builds.

For ramp, consider Perilous Forays. If anything would die, turn it into a land instead. This is also great if people try to tuck Nath or exile your Elves or bounce your tokens. With as many creatures as you are running, it will easily outperform Explosive Vegetation and the like for your mid-to-late game push.

I'd replace Deadly Allure with Bow of Nylea. Deadly Allure is Sorcery speed, so it can't be a combat trick. Bow of Nylea would give all your attackers deathtouch, and has an added bonus of pinging fliers and putting counters on things if you have mana to spare. If you like the "must be blocked" clause, go with Tower Above which lets you choose which creature must block.

For card draw, consider Geth's Grimoire and Skullclamp?

MagicalHacker: Unfortunately I'm not buying new cards for this - it's only a secondary deck. [75%] Blink blink, nudge nudge is my main deck and the only one I spend any money on. I have a lot of cards that benefit from having a lot of elves in play - Elvish Archdruid, Elvish Champion, Ezuri, Renegade Leader, Lys Alana Scarblade, Priest of Titania, Timberwatch Elf, Wellwisher, Wolf-Skull Shaman - but I don't know if the crappy elves in my sideboard will increase or decrease the power level of the deck.

Deckologist: It's elf tribal because it's inspired by the list in the description (I pretty much bought every card costing < $3), and I don't want to make a pure stax-deck. My GF don't play much, so I'm adopting it for my own use. The only feedback I'm really looking for right now is if there's any cards in my sideboard that should be moved into the main board. Boring, but that's how it is.

contracrostipunctus: I haven't thought about that utility of Perilous Forays before, good advice. I'm hoping to get my hands on a Dictate of Erebos, then I'll absolutely add more sac-effects. Good catch on Deadly Allure as well. Unfortunately my only Skullclamp is already in my [75%] Blink blink, nudge nudge-deck, but Geth's Grimoire is in here. Bow of Nylea is not in my collection, but Archetype of Finality might be even better?

Nah, I mean the permanents to make opponents discard is really the biggest improvement the deck could use, but I totally understand if you don't have the funds to be able to acquire those cards.

Finished with tuning my list for now. Added Perilous Forays and Hex back in for utility and removal. A bit worried about the weird mana curve with over 40% of the deck having CMC 3. I'm hoping to play a game or two with it tomorrow.

3 games yesterday.
1 - 0 against Shattergang Brothers goblins. He had a bad draw and I was way too fast.
2 - 0 against Mayael the Anima. Almost lost to Archangel-beatdown and Crater Hellion sweeping my board. Saved by Death Cloud.

My deck was quite fast in all games, drawing almost no dead cards, and Skyshroud Poacher allowed me to find the answers I needed (Eyeblight's Ending, Elvish Archdruid, Elvish Champion) in two of the games. I benefited well from the new additions Minions' Murmurs and Syphon Mind.

I'm a bit worried about the mana-curve of the deck, with ~42% having CMC 3.
Any feedback on my list appreciated, but I'm not currently buying new cards.

I would consider using Sylvan Messenger. With the token production not effecting Door of Destinies, Coat of Arms would probably produce a more grand result, but if you are playing in a board wipe heavy meta, I would stick with what you have. Do you play a lot more 1v1's than multiplayer games?
