Fixed the land base.

This deck finally has reached the point where I feel like it is strong and stable.

Sounds like a grave issue.

+1 from the puns alone. Deck looks good, too :P

Haha, thanks. I need to fix the deck up in terms of ramp, and other cards that can help with the auras (like cards that draw when i play an enchantment, etc.)

Umbra Mystic seems good, should I fit it in somewhere?

Let's think. Th-Sigarda-awesome? + the inclusion of aura, since it's auras? Anyway, suggestions. Semblance Anvil could speed the deck along. For the cost of 2 mana and 2 cards, yo could accelerate your strategy dramatically. I'd also use Kor Spiritdancer , since she means auras lose their downside, losing a card, since she replaces them, oh yeah, she gets huge. Angelic Destiny is a very powerful aura, since it returns like Rancor but gives extreme power. Celestial Mantle is just fun. Especially with double strike. Serra's Blessing is also good. You also NEED Idyllic Tutor .

Semblance Anvil : well I wouldn't be able to choose between a creature so Sigarda, Host of Herons comes out faster or an enchantment to make her bigger faster. I don't really like it.

Kor Spiritdancer : great for filling up my hand, but I don't need to with this deck. With whatever I got in my hand, I can give Sigarda 21 power easily.

Angelic Destiny : as can be expected, I don't really have a problem with her dying in this deck, so the recursion is not a big deal. It only gives +4/+4 and first strike. For four mana, I need something a bit stronger.

Celestial Mantle : great suggestion if it turns out I can't handle people hating on the Sigarda deck. This is a maybe.

Serra's Blessing : same here. Maybe.

Idyllic Tutor : this deck functions very well with all the cards in here, so I don't want to play three mana to get an aura.

To everyone: Of these six cards, which two should I use?

  1. Ogre's Cleaver
  2. Decree of Savagery
  3. Tawnos's Coffin
  4. Flickerform
  5. Spirit Link
  6. Spirit Loop

Spirit Loop and Flickerform .

The first gives lifegain, with an emergency loop in case your general dies.

Flickerform is Flickerform . It will save your general from certain death.

Knight of the White Orchid is a card that's more for 60-card decks. Weathered Wayfarer is the superior EDH variant.

Thanks for the input, Bro.

Flickerform even though I have to keep 4 mana open to use it?

And not Tawnos's Coffin which would only require me to keep 3 open?

And is the lifegain from Spirit Loop going to change the game more than the cycling ability of Decree of Savagery ?

Right now, I'm leaning towards Ogre's Cleaver and Decree of Savagery to just win, but before I had Spirit Link and Spirit Loop . I'm not sure if this deck needs lifegain or if it can use those card slots for more aggro cards.

The lifegain and repeatability of Spirit Loop is mana better spent than on a cycled Decree of Savagery , imo. Counters won't do as much in this deck as it did for Skullbriar, the Walking Grave . I think lifegain will pull you out of slumps where you're receiving a lot of hate. If you really want to keep the counters idea, Celestial Ancient .

I find it hilarious that you compare Ogre's Cleaver with aggro. It's just not.

Also, assume that Sigarda, Host of Herons , for some unexplainable reason, gets a lot of hate and doesn't get to see much play (I really don't know how that's possible sarcasm). What's your alternative? I would consider dropping some lesser auras for Kor Spiritdancer , Idyllic Tutor , Retether , Sterling Grove , Rancor , Argothian Enchantress , Enchantress's Presence , Mesa Enchantress , Mammoth Umbra , Elderwood Scion , Instill Energy , Daybreak Coronet and Ancestral Mask ? These cards are more powerful aura-wise, and will keep your deck constant and powerful.

Actually I'm using Knight of the White Orchid for the ramp, not the land fixing.

Repeatability means very little when I have every totem armor umbra in here... ;) And think of the decree as a shroud enchantment that gives +4/+4 and draws a card for 4GG. Sounds pretty good to me. And I nixed the cards that put counters on slowly, like Forced Adaptation .

So for this deck, I wanted cards that could give 4 or more power to Sigarda, Host of Herons for a mana cost that was at most 1 more than the power it would give. I have all those cards in here, so I looked at cards that could give 4 or more power to the commander for a mana cost that was 2 more than the power it would give, which gave me Decree of Savagery and Ogre's Cleaver . So I was a bit iffy on them, but they still seem okay to me.

Not everyone runs counterspells. :P Plus this deck should be able to reliably kick her out on turn three, which doesn't give people much chance to respond. I want this to be a fast deck, so the tutors and draw trigger cards only slow down my game :( But I thought I had Ancestral Mask and Daybreak Coronet ?! Well, I found the two cards I'll be using...

Counterspells? Maybe not. Fieldwipes? Everyone that has an option to runs a lot of these. Enchantment destruction? A dime a dozen. Heck even giant creatures will provide some trouble.

I'm just saying, if you don't have a backup plan, you'll never be able to win if and when it fails. I suggest the Mesa Enchantress -type cards because they can bring more of an element of aggro to your deck. More aggro than Mythic Proportions , Wurmweaver Coil or Epic Proportions (I really feel that these are overcosted).

Also, I think its a mistake to not use Rancor

July 21, 2013 1:15 p.m.

MagicalHacker says... #18

Fieldwipes? TOTEM ARMOR.

I have yet to see enchantment boardwipes in Commander games.

They would make this deck last longer and make the deck more resilient, but for now, I want to come out as strong as I can.

In the future, I might change this deck to have just pure efficiency and value with things like rancor and the aura->draw chicks.
