Rograkh's Hammer is an aggressive partner commander deck lead by Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh and Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist. Due to the fact, that both our commanders are cheap creatures, there is no need to run a lot of creatures, so the deck can be oriented almost exclusively on equipment and auras, which help Rograkh to deal a ton of damage to our opponents and hopefully take them out before they can react in any way. Currently, it's under 30$ including basic lands.

The core idea of this deck is to utilize the Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh as a hard-to-block creature that takes out opponents on one swing. That is possible mainly thanks to the Menace and Trample on Rograh, which basically makes our kobold unblockable for the first few turns. Unfortunately for us, he starts as a 0/1 creature, so we need to buff him for 20, to make him able to kill a player by one hit. That's why this deck runs more than 40 equipment and auras. They allow us to get out commander's power quickly to 5 or even more.

DECK TECH:

There are five main categories of cards in this deck:

  • Equipment like Tormentor's Trident is usually used to empower Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh. Since their equipment cost is usually high, we almost never use their Equip and rather attach them through Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist's ability.

  • Auras works the same way as equipment with few differences: we can attach them directly when we cast them, so they can be used even before turn 3; on the other hand, auras go away, when enchanted creature dies, while equipment is still around and we can re-equip it after we recast our commander.

  • We do also play 5 removals, which deal direct damage to the target creature. They should help us to get through defenses later on in the game since our opponents will always need 2 defenders for Rograkh and killing one might be an unpleasant surprise for them.

  • Then we run 3 cards, that either give us an additional combat step or even a whole extra turn. Even though one of these cards (Chance for Glary) makes us lose the game in the next turn, all of them are just great to finish off our opponents just in time before they can wipe the board or anything else. will
