Genju of the Spires & Small Pox = Deck Name; FirePox/FireFox.

Blood Moon & Genju of the Spires + Removal = permanent land destruction!

The concept really all started with wanting to decimate Tron matchups, while still having a chance at other decks. Blood Moon already does that, but I wanted to get spicy with Genju of the Spires. While at first, it seems janky, but with Blood Moon - things become very different. Once BloodMoon comes down - things escalate into returning Stone Rain (as their lands become mountains/legal Genju targets).

Not to mention that if Genju of the Spires blocks, it kills the following Modern staples;

Hollow One

Wurmcoil Engine

Gurmag Angler

Tasigur, the Golden Fang

Primeval Titan

Tarmogoyf

Thought-Knot Seer

Reality Smasher

Bedlam Reveler

And the list goes on...

Note: 3x combat swings equates to 18 damage. Send a Lightning Bolt upstairs and that's 21.

As for removal (that would also target land) I also decided that Smallpox was, and is a king at disruption (especially against Tron) and destroys land in a sense. Considering that Boggles has been making a comeback - Smallpox also combats against Hexproof and Geist of Saint Traft/Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger.

This deck runs a tad different from other land destruction/control lists. The idea is to control the board via removal and Blood Moon. Genju of the Spires is a beat down option - as 6 combat damage is a clock. The idea is to use Blood Moon as an enabler for Genju of the Spires to remove the opponents non-basic lands.

Ghost Quarter is at a preference over Field of Ruin, due to being able to destroy basic land types and keeping lands as , for Genju of the Spiresto stay relevant.

Crucible of Worlds is another enabler for cards such as Bojuka Bog, Ghost Quarter, and Bloodghast.

Bloodghast is great and pairs well with Crucible of Worlds. However, in a world full of Control and Path to Exiles - the Vampire Spirit falls short. With that in mind, Bitterblossom is a great alternative that allows you to fill the roll of "doing nothing", while continuing to invest in the main game plan; destruction.

Avalanche Riders are also replacements for Bloodghast, dependent on Meta.

avanalche riders hits and gets rid of land.

More to come!
