Shriekmaw, Thrashing Brontodon and Caustic Caterpillar are good removal creatures for jarad

you should add a bit more graveyard protection against graveyard hosers. Cranial Archive, Feldon's Cane, Thran Foundry, Elixir of Immortality, Bow of Nylea are some that might interest you.

also Orbs of Warding and Witchbane Orb is good against Bojuka Bog like effects, that target the player instead of the graveyard.

@40601 - as much as Shriekmaw is useful to cast since it has low cmc to evoke, and i can recur it from the yard, but the nonartifact and nonblack creature only option is not as useful as Ravenous Chupacabra imo.. although i might put either Thrashing Brontodon or Caustic Caterpillar as additional artifact or enchantment removal.. thanks!

@FeJex - whoa! thanks for the suggestions! I'm definitely going to add a couple of those.. Since when I'm playtesting this deck, graveyard hate is not uncommon to put on some edh decks, and my graveyard got exiled quite a few times, and some of those cards can be a deterrent that they can't exile my graveyard that easily..

Body Snatcher is another good option for a reanimation deck

do you consistently dredge Brawn to your graveyard? if not, you can add the game ending staple for green, Craterhoof Behemoth or Overwhelming Stampede for a cheaper version.

you can also use Wreath of Geists and Soulshriek.

I suggest having a bit more boardwipes, since your commander doesn't mind having a lot of creatures in your graveyard, as much as other commanders. The following are good options:

Black Sun's Zenith is another Dead of Winter and Toxic Deluge type of removal, but can be reused when tutored or when drawn again.

Damnation is the most iconic black mass removal.

Gaze of Granite can boardwipe, except your possible key pieces on your board, even artifacts, enchantments and planeswalkers, although not as easy to cast as Toxic Deluge.

Also

Decree of Pain can refill you hand at the same time, to fill up with gas after the boardwipe.

In Garruk's Wake has high CMC, but only affects your opponents.

Yahenni's Expertise and Maelstrom Pulse can hose down tokens.

@Jobiji - I might add Necrotic Ooze, but probably not the other cards.. I'm not into combo-ing out type of player, plus this deck is mostly for casual games.. but thanks for the suggestion!

@jager69 - true, but it seems clunky since it also plays with the exile zone.. but i'll playtest it to be sure.. thanks!

@RalZarek77 - Craterhoof Behemoth won't be as effective, since the deck doesn't plan on going wide that much, unlike token decks, but Overwhelming Stampede is a different case.. That could work, i'll test it out.. Soulshriek is only a one time spell, that will make me sacrifice the targeted creature.. its situational.. i'll consider Wreath of Geists though.. if only it gives the enchanted creature trample too.. thanks!

@dogBITE17 - whooah! thanks for all the suggestions! i'll test all of those out, but probably not Damnation.. budget reasons..

ahh. if that's the case Springbloom Druid should be better than Harrow, the only difference is that Harrow puts them on the battlefield untapped.

it's no problem. if ever you would include it in the future, Oversold Cemetery is another card that can turn online fast with Hermit Druid and other redundant type of cards with mass self mill.

i understand, Damnation needs to be cheaper imo. Also, you should include Beast Within. It can be very useful when at the right moment, since it can remove anything, even planeswalkers.

@hivemind899 - hmm.. that's a good ramp creature too! Thanks! I'll definitely consider it..

@rafiq996 - I'll keep that in my maybeboard as well, thanks!

@dogBITE17 - yeah, I'm thinking of the versatility of that card over Tragic Slip.. Thanks for reminding me

There's also a niche card that i only found out recently, which can help you put more creatures in your graveyard. Price of Fame

Loaming Shaman is a creature that can save some of your cards on the graveyard.

rasiti says... #17

something like Dawntreader Elk is better than Wood Elves since you don't have efficient forest like Overgrown Tomb or Taiga.

gaglink says... #18

Why no Relentless Pursuit? It's a good card selection and self-mill at the same time.

Thanks guys for the upvotes!

@dogBITE17 - yeah, that card is niche.. However, i think I'd rather have a removal on a creature than an instant/sorcery that is efficient to kill commanders most of the time..

@fruittart88 - I thought about that card before, but I usually end up having that card in my hand, not being able to respond to graveyard hate spells from my opponents. The only time I have been able to use that in response to something is when Loaming Shaman is in my graveyard and I have Tortured Existence in my battlefield, and I discard a creature to place the Loaming Shaman to my field, which is very uncommon to happen.. But thanks for the suggestion!

@rasiti - ahh! I see what you mean.. Plus it's cheaper too.. Thanks!

@gaglink - I think Grisly Salvage and Grapple with the Past is better, since they are instants.. But I could add that should I need another similar effect to the other two spells.. Thanks!

Mortal Combat for surprise win-con, also can be lucky with Mosswort Bridge

The new card Clackbridge Troll is good for your deck. It has card draw and gives you a big body to sac to Jarad. Also, in Jarad EDH decks, usually there's a Phyrexian Devourer.

doge1980 says... #22

In addition to the above comment, Triskelion and Necrotic Ooze can infinite combo with Phyrexian Devourer. Mikaeus, the Unhallowed can also combo with Triskelion.

doge1980 says... #23

Oh! i didn't see the infinite combo was already suggested before. my bad.

another one, Buried Ruin can fetch your dredged or self-milled artifact graveyard protection like Cranial Archive, Feldon's Cane or Elixir of Immortality.

@KEWEFI - Cool! I didn't knew about that card! That's definitely going to be added.. Thanks!

@YvYxY - Ah! That card can be good too! Although, against one token deck, it might be as effective.. But I mean, I can always sac it to Jarad.. I'm still on the fence about Phyrexian Devourer.. At one hand, it can be one of my win-conditions, but on the other hand, it can feel one trick pony kind of deck to tutor for it everytime.. I might add it, but only as a last resort to win against casual decks, since I usually play casually.. Thanks for the suggestions!

@doge1980 - lol. No problem. He/she didn't suggested it in the system, so no harm done.. I usually don't like infinite combos or 2-3 card combo out win cons, so I wouldn't probably put those in the deck.. But we'll see in the future, if i feel a need to add those against a certain playgroup.. The Buried Ruin though is a good suggestion, though.. Thanks!
