Creature — Human Pirate
Trample
When Rowdy Crew enters the battlefield, draw three cards, then discard two cards at random. If two cards that share a card type are discarded this way, put two +1/+1 counters on Rowdy Crew.

Rowdy Crew
Creature - Human Pirate
Menace
When Rowdy Crew enters the battlefield, discard up to two cards then draw that many cards. For each nonland card discarded this way, put a +1/+1 counter onto Rowdy Crew. For each land card discarded this way, create a treasure token.
2/2
The first thing I wanted to do is get rid of the randomness in the discard. Then came the trample, I'm not sure why a bunch of pirates had trample in the first place but menace seems like a much more fitting keyword. Originally I was going to have the discard ability explore for each card but explore doesn't really feel like something red should be able to do well so instead I tried to get it mirror explore using things that red can do. I brought it down to a three mana 2/2 for the sake of referencing Seasoned Pyromancer. Admittedly this is probably too good for standard but it seems like the right power level for a modern horizons type set.
Same challenge again.

Hey, well done, very creative on a budget :)
Arcane Signet, Rainbow mana rock is an upgrade for Charcoal Diamond for the "The nine pieces of eight". Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator is a flying Pirate which helps to trigger Brass and is very good with the treasure strategy since he can be repeatable treasures. Malcolm could replace Trophy Mage since Mage is not a character and only has one 3 CMC artifact that's worth tutoring for and Deadeye Quartermaster can tutor for it.
Departed Deckhand is a Pirate who's consistently unblockable/make other Pirates unblockable is an upgrade for Captain Vargus Wrath since Wrath is not a character. Spectral Sailor flying one drop Pirate/repeatable draw source is an upgrade for Rowdy Crew since Crew is also not a character.
Exotic Orchard, Unclaimed Territory, Path of Ancestry are three budget Rainbow land upgrades which could replace Bloodfell Caves, Dismal Backwater and Swiftwater Cliffs.
Good luck with your deck.

Thank you for your reply. I am still tuning my deck as it goes (with breaks). The level of decks of my playgroup is quite high, so I think i can afford some higher power level cards. I am still not sold on Liquimetal Coating , I think i've enough cards that can deal with threats on their own. Sword of the Animist , Chandra, Flamecaller and Rowdy Crew I think are worth running. What do you suggest to replace it for?

Hi aarnok! I'm not familiar with how to reply to you on my deck thread, or if you'd be notified, so I figured I'd try sending you a comment this way to see if it works.
Thanks for the feedback and suggestions! Here's some insight as to my process:
Sword of the Animist is definitely a bit of a corner case inclusion, but I've gotten plenty of value from it. If my Feldon is on the field and has no targets in graveyard, at least he can get me some lands by swinging away. Plus I've got plenty of low CMC creatures that can be equipped and ramp me some land. It's performed well in all the games I've seen it!
Liquimetal Coating is bonkers with things like Ingot Chewer and Manic Vandal . It turns Feldon activations into "destroy any permanent". I've used it to take out Gaea's Cradle , Kozilek, Butcher of Truth and even planeswalkers. It's fantastic.
Chandra, Flamecaller is used exclusively for the 0 effect. Dumping my hand and drawing a new one plus one is fantastic and desirable since I'm often dumping a ton of threats for Feldon to activate or a bunch of cards I don't need. Yeah, she costs 6 but it's not a huge problem most games.
Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded is absolutely a bad card. I run it for the fun of it. I'd definitely say Sarkhan is better in all cases and may consider adding him in addition, but Tibalt is just a fun pet card that I enjoy. :)
Nahiri's Wrath is a newer inclusion but I have it in the deck as an alternate way to pitch big dragons and other buff creatures to the graveyard. It's removal and a discard outlet in one. It's tested adequately thus far, but it's definitely closer to the "gonna get replaced soon" side of things at the moment.
Rowdy Crew is a sleeper hit. Discard effects on creatures is great as Feldon can recur them to keep fueling the graveyard more and more!
I used to run Gauntlet of Power and Caged Sun but removed them to tone the deck back a bit as it was getting a little too powerful. I tone a lot of my decks to match my meta which is pretty casual, so sometimes I sacrifice some super-powerful cards for the betterment of the group. GoP was why I had so many basics, but you're right - I could do to add a few more nonbasics.
Goblin Engineer and Drakuseth, Maw of Flames are both on my "to buy" list. Hazoret's Monument is a great idea and I'm not sure why I'm not running it already, thanks! Endless Atlas seems cool too! Warstorm Surge is definitely powerful but it's another card that was sacrificed for playgroup purposes. The deck is already quite strong, and Surge is a bit "win-more" in my opinion. Godo, Bandit Warlord isn't a bad idea either but I only have four legal targets in the deck. Sure, grabbing Illusionist's Bracers would be slick but getting Boots or Greaves would feel underwhelming for the cost.
Worldgorger Dragon seems super interesting as some insurance to protect against board wipes (though the delayed trigger getting Stifle 'd would feel really bad), but I'm not sure how much else we could really abuse him since all my creatures would get summoning sickness again. It would untap my lands so if I had something like Hanweir Battlements in play I could give Feldon haste and use his effect again, but I just don't know that I run enough instants / flash stuff to warrant it. I'll have to consider trying him out.
Thanks a ton! I'll take a look at your list and let you know any feedback there!

Hey man, always love to see another fellow Feldon fan out there. Few questions and comments though:
I am not sold on the following cards: Sword of the Animist , Liquimetal Coating and Chandra, Flamecaller Sure we want to ramp up fast, but most of the time I don't have a creature or the mana to attack with the equipped Sword of the Animist . How is that for you? For Liquimetal Coating I don't see the potential, except to combo with Hellkite Tyrant . But the impact and chances seems to small to get them. For Chandra, she seems to cost to much for me. 6 mana is a lot to spend for. Are you using that for her +1 mainly? Is that 6 damage so much of a difference? Her +0 is oke, but also to much for 6 mana. Please tell me what your experiences are.
I would remove Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded and replace it for Sarkhan, Fireblood Cost a bit more, but you have the same effect with control over it. Plus you run a lot of dragons, so his other +1 seems to add up to that. Also I would drop Nahiri's Wrath . I think there are better removals that also don't cost two cards to play.
I like your inclusion of Rowdy Crew . Seems a lot of fun and not so bad when I think more about it.
You seem to run just a few non-basic land cards. Why is that? Cards like Spinerock Knoll , Buried Ruin and Arcane Lighthouse are really good and came with the preconstructed deck as well.
Last are some cards I really think you should add: Goblin Engineer Drakuseth, Maw of Flames (new cards) Hazoret's Monument Endless Atlas and Warstorm Surge . Perhaps also Godo, Bandit Warlord , to get the specific equipments really helps a lot some times.
Overall it seems like a fun deck as well. Lot of looting, but maybe that is what I am missing.

The only standard legal instant you have is Costly Plunder. I would swap the others put for stuff like Siren's Ruse and other pirate related spells. I also think Wanted Scoundrels is a very bad card. Rowdy Crew isnt particularly great either. You would do better with a playset of Dire Fleet Poisoner.other than that you are right sir, this is a grixis pirate deck!

No worries! We all make mistakes and I love the opportunity to explain some of the math behind choosing to play City of Brass over Spire of Industry in this deck specifically. All the best to you!! Thanks again for the comments!
The Laboratory Maniac + Spoils of the Vault kill is insane! It's really hard to pull off and removal can really mess you up if you are not prepared for it, but when it works the look on an opponent's face when they lose to Ad Nauseam without the card Ad Nauseam being cast is very satisfying. Most Ad Nauseam players I find can forget this line so good on that player for realizing it was his best option. Can you link the gameplay here? I'm always looking for a good spoils kill. Also, just as an aside, I always name Rowdy Crew when going for the spoils kill, just in case you were wondering. I'm sure you already understand how this works but until I put it in the description of the deck I'll quickly explain how it works for people passing through: basically like Ad Nauseam Spoils of the Vault causes loss of life as opposed to damage allowing us to go deep in the negatives. Thanks for pointing this out, its one of the cooler more unexpected things the deck can do!
