FNM 3rd 2/14/2014Infinitely Faster!
PriestessKikyo1, 11 years ago
Decided to remove my Palladium Myr and Myr Galvanizer infinite combo in favor of Grand Architect and Pili-Pala. The Myr combo required two Myr Galvanizer, which slowed things down. This way, I can have both pieces on the board by turn 3.Secondary win con changed
reconaissance, 11 years ago
Changed the secondary win condition to Banefire. It may become the main win com because it wins the turn I play it. Though it does just fold to Leyline of Sanctity but I doubt anyone has it in the main.More or less complete

Got almost every card, except for Attrition and Cadaver Imp. Replaced them with Blood Bairn and Rot Farm Skeleton.LuitenantDan, 11 years ago
Swapped out 4x Celestial Flare for 4x Holy Day. A cheaper mana cost for more utility.Forgot about this deck!
Venser414, 11 years ago
I haven't been on the site in a while and once I logged back in I forgot I had put this deck up here. I've always enjoyed the Proliferate Mechanic so I decided to make some slight adjustments to the deck. I put this up when it was standard format, but it's been a while since I've played so now it's open to a lot more suggestions!1-1-1 Record

Won against Jund, Lost to USA, drew against Scapeshift.
Decided to put a Birthing Pod in the deck for added utility. With the adjustment i took out a Fleeceman Lion having a single one as a wild card. The Fleecemane is solid early but it can also be an unstoppable force late game if monstrous'd. If we are going to have a singleton 2 drop, it would make the most sense to be one. Took out a single Lilianna of the Veil, this move scares me the most as it's been the decks primary threat, but moving 2 Kitchen Finks in from the board to the main, as well as the pod should help keep my board full, and i still have enough disruption to make a dent in my opponents plan. Also took out the Sejiri Steppe in favor of a Vault of the Archangel, as i think it makes more sense for my deck to have that option.

Brimaz joins the team

I traded for a Brimaz, King of Oreskos. I am probably going to regret trading for him at his current $32 price tag, but I just had to have one!

I want to replace Devour Flesh in my mainboard, it feels like more of a sideboard removal tool. Any suggestions?supatrill, 11 years ago
First Changes Made
yoyoyo12365, 11 years ago
Thanks to the kind /u/AyAyRon87 of Reddit, I have made my first changes to this deck. Unfortunately, I was not with my main collection when I made these changes, and thus had very little to work with, especially as far as creatures go
To start off, I cut out most of my heroic triggers, meaning no more Agent of the Fates or Akroan Crusader. I also removed the 2 Hammer of Purphoros, because they have not been of much help to me, even if the haste was nice. Young Pyromancer was removed in an attempt to speed things up, as whenever I play him I try to preserve his life until I can get triggers off of him, which makes him a fairly dead drop.
To try to make up for the losses in the creatures department, I added in 2 more Rakdos Cackler, as well as a pair of Gore-House Chainwalker, and 1 each of Archetype of Aggression and Chandra's Phoenix. As I said before, I'm working with what I have on-hand, but I think I'd like to put in another of each the Phoenix and the Archetype, or possibly a playset of one or the other.
I also added Altar's Reap in an attempt to stop myself from stalling, but I'm really not sold on it as a card. My last addition was 3 Madcap Skills, which I think make good additions to help push damage through.
FNM-02-20

Got to play my first FNM with this deck. I went 2-1-1 with this deck, very close to 4-0 honestly.
1-1 Draw vs Bant:
This obnoxious deck recycled detain cards like Azorius Arrester and Liev Skyknight by using Whelming Wave of all cards. He was able to detain my big creatures constantly and get rid of my auras this way. Game 1, he had no ways to deal with Ajani, and I had enough Shieldmates, Hoplites, and Heros to block his small creatures. I had a Hero of Iroas out with Gift of Orzhova, and was able to keep him from being detained by Liev Skyknight to get Ajani 8 loyalty and ultimate him. The next turn I swung all out with 21 2/2 cats and he was screwed. This game unfortunately lasted a half hour so we didn't have much time for game 2. Game 2 he Whelming Waved twice, I got Ajani up to 8 loyalty again and had blockers to protect him but he top decked another Azorius Arrester to detain the blocker I needed and was able to swing at him knocking him down to 3 loyalty. Brimaz did work in this round, getting pretty big up to 6/7 from Ajani but I just couldn't keep up with his Prophet of Kruphix and Trostani, Selesnya's Voice, gaining more life than I could do damage. Ended up as a draw.
2-0 Win vs Red Deck Wins:
This deck was generic RDW with Chandra's Phoenix, strong, cheap, red creatures, and Fanatic of Mogus. Game 1 I got a Hero of Iroas with Pacifism on his Rakdos Cackler, got an Ethereal Armor and Chosen by Heliod put my Hero way out of burn range. I kept Hero of Iroas in hand until turn 3 with a Gods Willing to prevent him from getting shocked or lightning striked, which was a good call. Game 2 I had a favored hoplite with Chosen by Heliod and Gift of Orzhova. I was able to swing for about 7 damage lifelink every turn, bleeding my opponent and keeping my life hovering around 20. He got out 2 Chandras Phoenix and was forced to block a flying double strike Hero of Iroas and a buff favored hoplite.
2-1 Win vs Boros:
Lost first round because I kept an awesome hand but only one land. DIdn't draw a land for 5 turns and lost, simple as that. Game 2 I whupped him with a double ethereal armor on turn 2 nyxborn shieldmate. He was a 7/7 and I buffed him even more turn 3 with Chosen by Heliod, making him a 9/11. Game 3, Hero of Iroas did work when I used Soul Tithe for one mana on his Skyknight Legionnaire and then enchanted him with a Chosen by Heliod and Ethereal Armor on turn 3. He was forced to sac his skyknight, I top decked a Gift of Orzhova and was able to swing at him for massive damage for 2 or 3 turns,
1-2 Loss vs a better Boros:
Game 1, got out a good favored hoplite with some auras and a Brimaz by turn 3. He dropped Boros Reckoner, swung, I blocked with Brimaz and God's Willing him to save him. He had to chump block my two big creatures once I got Ajani out and was +1'ing like a mofo, eventually got the win. Game 2, I couldn't get Ajani or Gift of Ozhova. He had a Chandra's Phoenix and dropped a huge Stormbreath Dragon. We swung out at each other turn after turn, me having the upper hand because I was able to do more damage each turn. He was down to like 2 health, I had 10. He dropped another Stormbreath Dragon and swung for 10 flying. Game 3, I got totally wrecked by Chained to the Rocks twice. I got out a Safety Sphere and a Soul Tithe on his Chandras Phoenix, forcing him to pay like 5 mana per turn to do 2 damage. Unfortunately I drew 6, CHECK IT 6!!!! lands in a row, which totally screwed me. He dropped a Purphoros, then a turn or two later another Chandra's Phoenix, and was able to wreck me with Purph. Really lame final game to a fun night.
Going to sub in an Elspeth for sideboard and take out Indestructibility altogether. I thought it would be good against removal but I was mistaken. Another Chosen by Heliod or Divine Favor would work well. Also, Gift of Orzhova is amazing, I might consider running 4 of it because this deck is weak to flying. The lifelink totally shuts down red decks and lets you swing out every turn, keeping your life constant while theirs drains. I need to think of ways to buff my creatures more, even though Chosen by Heliod draws you a card, I need to be able buff them more with auras.

Took out a Purphoros and added another landsplash white for boros charm?
mdgregoire, 11 years ago
I'm wanting to play around with boros charm. I removed 2 madcap skills, 1 purphoros, and 1 hero's downfall to put in 4 boros charms. I tweaked the mana base as well. I'm not sure if the change in consistency is worth the charms.Fog of War is Lifted (Updated for BNG!)

Hello again, everyone!
With the "new" metagame - exactly the same as the old one, in that there are so many different kinds of competitive decks out there - I've been poking and reworking and tweaking Blindside. My earlier fears that there would be some new deck that would just cream this one haven't yet been realized, so the changes I've made mainly continued the previous pattern just refining in small steps.
I realized that Gift of Orzhova was so good that it belonged in the mainboard, and that we needed to increase the count from two to three. What that means for the deck is that we go from seeing a lifegain aura ~50% of the time by turn three to seeing one almost *75% of the time. That's a ridiculous increase.
The rest of the changes involve pushing the transformational/toolbox nature of Blindside even further. Essentially, now that we've really defined the core plan of the deck (lifegain auras on hard-to-kill creatures), we have more freedom to be flexible.
I'm removing the sideboard guide posted previously, since Blindside no longer has such a rigid sideboarding plan as before.

Notes:
I needed something to replace Sylvan Primordial as part of my Tooth and Nail package, and Kamahl, Fist of Krosa does a similar job. While not providing a permanent pump to the Plant Tokens due to landfall, he can still pump them sometimes multiple times a turn and provide an even greater damage potential. I lose a bit of utility as far as ramp and removal goes but that can't really be helped in this case.
