This is my Temur Control deck. It is a lot like my Wii U. I know it's not the most powerful option out there, but I have so much fun playing with it, and from time to time, I beat someone's face in with it. Beat their face right in.

Please give suggestions and feedback. I've played this at FNM twice to... limited success (see updates section). This deck is not the greatest in the world, and the list needs work, but I am also not the best player in the universe, so maybe this list is actually the nut and completely unstoppable.

OK, card selection time:

Counter Magic

I decided to go with a toolboxy-style counter magic package, 8 spells overall with 4 Dissolve because it is just the best. I feel like Nullify is the most useful 2 mana counter because everyone plays creatures right now, and the singleton Negate and Disdainful Stroke are there for blowouts. Extra copies of counters in the side for boarding.

Burn

I'm running a 4/2 Lightning Strike/Magma Jet split because the extra power seems more relevant than the scry when Fleecemane Lion and Herald of Torment are cards, but I am thinking of going to 3/3. Two Master the Ways are for big things like Siege Rhinos and other scary things. Master the Way looks pretty mediocre, but it can pretty reliably deal 5 or so damage, it cantrips, and it can be aimed at the face as a win-con. In a midrange build I think Crater's Claws is a bit better, but this is a control build with only four cards that turn on ferocious.

Board Wipes

6 board wipes, 4 Anger of the Gods, 2 Perilous Vaults. Vault gets Planeswalkers, enchantments like Banishing Light, doesn't care about bestow, indestructible... Pretty cool. But a T3 Anger of the Gods can win the game against some decks like Green Devotion, RDW, even the Abzan Aggro list. Anger can be too game-breaking not to run 4 copies.

Creatures

Savage Knuckleblade is an absolute beast. All of his abilites are super relevant in the early, mid and late game. Great on defense and offense. The only thing he lacks as a finisher is evasion. Big Knucks is the real deal and can win games by himself. People are terrified of this card and they should be. Prognostic Sphinx is a great finisher. And blocker. Scry 3 on the attack really gives the opponent very little hope of ever coming back after stabilising. I'm trying out a one-of Hornet Nest because I think that card scares a lot of things, like me, I am scared of it. Also it has a real nice interaction with Anger of the Gods. I'm also not above striking or jetting the nest for a couple of tokens. In some cases, the early flying aggression could win the game.

Draw Spells

I don't own any Dig Through Times, and I'm not made of money sad face. I am trying to get a hold of some, and I want to run 3 Digs and 2 Steam Augury. Steam Augury is sometimes sub-par, but often excellent. The mind games you play can be not only fun, but you can trick your opponent. It also fuels delve, is four mana at instant speed, I'm really happy with this card. I could see myself running a third, but four feels like it's pushing it.I thought Treasure Cruise could sub for Dig, but it really can't. The sorcery speed hurts, but not as much as I thought it would. The difference is, Dig can be left up pretty early on, and you can use left up mana and as little delve as possible to attempt to chain, but an early Cruise uses the entire turn, and you need to delve as much as you can to get value. To sub for the three digs, I'm running two Treasure Cruise and one Jace's Ingenuity. I was running one Cruise, but I was casting it for one mana a lot of the time with a lot of delve left up, so I bumped it up to two.

I have tried Bow of Nylea several times, and I am convinced it is not the right card for this build. All of the abilites look useful, but in the game they are generally pretty incidental. I think its usefulness is not only matchup dependent, but also game state dependent. I'd much rather have cards that always have a use, like burn or draw.

Side Board

Naturalize is for Whip of Erebos decks, black aggro, and constellation. Nullify is good against a lot of things. Negate is good against control and low creature count midrange decks. Master the Way kills big things like Siege Rhino, Polukranos, World Eater, Stormbreath Dragon, Wingmate Roc. Disdainful Stroke is also good against the big things decks. Perilous Vault is good against pretty much everything except fast decks, and I'll usually board it in if I'm not up against aggro. Magma Jet is for when the extra point on Lightning Strike isn't as good as scry. Magma Spray is good against aggro, and so is AEtherspouts.

Maybe Board

Kiora, the Crashing Wave seems good, so does Keranos, God of Storms. I might try them out if the Hornet Nest experiment fails. Curse of the Swine seems like it could be an alternate/sideboard board wipe against mainly Abzan. It gets the huge Siege Rinos and regenerating Rakshasa Deathdealer s. Seems like a potentially good option to me, I'd love to hear thoughts.

Updates Add

I went 1-1 against Abzan, 1-1 against Mardu, and beat a BG Kin-Tree Invocation-Disowned Ancestor deck. The Abzan match I lost I went 0-2, but we both agreed it was intensely close both games and could have gone either way. The Mardu match I lost was me putting him on base red aggro from his game one Monastery Swiftspear into Seeker of the Way into Goblin Rabblemaster into Hordeling Outburst, sideboarding appropriately, and then getting wrecked in game two by almost creatureless midrange.

I am once again pretty happy with the deck's performance, but I am overjoyed with how fun it is to play. I am going to continue tweaking and tinkering the list, because I do believe it has potential to be a real deck.

I maindecked two Bow of Nyleas in place of the Courser of Kruphixs just as I said I would. They did come up in a few games as expected. Although I didn't feel too stressed to cast it at any point, I wasn't really impressed with its performance. Not that it was bad, in fact people were scared of it, at one point I played a bow and it immediatley ate an Utter End, clearing the way for my Perilous Vault to ensure victory. That's all it really did though. The lifegain was incidental, and the counters didn't really matter. The other two abilities never came up, and the deathtouch didn't either because Savage Knuckleblade is big enough as a 6/6. In a midrange build, I think the bow would really shine, turning dorks into killing machines, mitigating life loss from the manabase, and so on. I just really don't think it's a control card suited to this deck.

In other news, Courser of Kruphix wasn't missed at all. I am happy to say there are now two free slots.

Master the Way is a real card. 5 mana sure is a lot, but it generally kills Siege Rhino, and can go to the face. I found myself boarding in the second copy in almost every match. I think I'm going to keep one in the board, and maindeck a second putting the total up to three. It looks bad, but if you play with it, you'll know it really is good in control. Especially late game after a Steam Augury and one mana Treasure Cruise. At one point I had 12 cards in hand digging for one of my two copies, which aimed at the face would have ended the game on the spot (I didn't get there, they were both in the bottom 5 cards of the deck).

Speaking of Treasure Cruise, that card is insane. While I would prefer three Dig Through Times, I'm going to go down to one Jace's Ingenuity and up to two Treasure Cruise. I'm pretty much always casting it for one mana, so the sorcery speed doesn't really hurt that much. Every time I cast it, it was for one mana, and there was only one instance where I couldn't cast a second one for three or less. Absolutely bonkers.

The one slot left over is going to be me experimenting with other options. Namely, Hornet Nest. If the interaction between it and Anger of the Gods wasn't enough, it is just amazing on defense by itself. Siege Rhinos still have trample, but that card is just silly levels of good.
