When I saw Behold the Beyond I knew I wanted to make a deck around it Kind of like the cousin of Seasons past except instead of Grabbing the cards from grave you Tutor from deck No contest Seasons Past is stronger than Behold the Beyond Seeing as it has the potential to get you more than double the cards, but it's always fun to brew plus Behold allows us to get cards specifically tailored to our situation.
The Idea is to get to either Dark petition or Behold the beyond to refresh our hand with some tailored cards in order to achieve this we have Some control cards Like Fiery Impulse, Radiant Flames, Ultimate price, etc. For general ramp and mana fixing we have 2 of Nissa's Pilgrimage and 2 Of Corrupted Grafstone, Nissa the Vastwood seer herseld and 1 Nissa's renewal although we have that more for the fact that we can Beyond it when we need the life gain although it does grab 3 basics of any color so that's always guaranteed to Fix any mana problems we might be having although by 6 mana there are usually none.
The second reason that this deck exists is Shreds of Sanity Which we can Tutor with beyond in order to re use Beyond the following turn and then of course We have to discard afterwards so we have A playset of Fiery temper and From under the floorboards as a 2 of which of course is great for life gain which we want and creatures are also scarce in this deck.
Next is the Mana Base Ive Been tinkering with the Idea of Traverse the Ulvenwald for some early Game mana Fixing but with the curve as High as it is Pilgrimage will do for now I Also had a geir reach sanitarium for the late game when I just need a madness trigger and I need it now but Blighted Fen proved to be much more consistent in that slot, and only a 1 of because the deck is very tricky with mana because we dont have many green cards but we want that ramp so we need more green and black is very demanding because besides Ultimate Price every card in black requires double black, it's honestly the only reason We're running Ultimate Price as opposed to Grasp.
Finally the Side Board is a simple one as far as Duress, Transgress, Ruinous path, Orbs of warding, and infinite Obliteration go. When It comes to the rest I'll explain Sinister concoction is for Bant decks which Use dromoka's command to swat Away fiery Impulse and radiant flames and ramp decks that dont really run many targets for fiery impulse and just have bigger ones so it's nice to just be able to cast it early game and just sit and wait for the bomb to come especially if it is emrakul because while we sill still get mindslaved they wont have a big 13/13 waiting for us on the other side of the tunnel plus since we have almost no creatures she can't make us waste our removal.
Next Risen executioner is An eyebrow raiser I thought the same thing when I saw it but against other control decks it is actually very amazing because like I've said numerous times we have little creats so he will almost always be 4 to cast and we can do it every turn forcing our opponent to either take 4 or use a removal spell on a creature that will be back by the time they take their next turn.
