Deck REFORMED; will fix description later.

Really excited to be brewing with all the new kinky Kaladesh cards. This deck was initially a combo deck oriented around playing Metalwork Colossus + Morbid Curiosity + Fateful Showdown in the same turn sometimes hitting for 20 on turn 6-7. However, the deck felt too linear and inconsistent and was rebuilt around Metalwork Colossus + Haunted Cloak/ Strider Harness .

The deck was not designed with financial restrictions in mind - it uses the best cards available. It just happens so these cards are not particularly pricy(deck is 40-50 $) so I'm calling it a budget deck. ;)

As it stands, the deck will get out and swing with a Metalwork Colossus by turn 5 in many games and by turn 6 almost always. Because of Sanctum of Ugin 1 Metalwork Colossus will often be followed by more and we'll be swinging with 2/3 Metalwork Colossus by turn 7/8. Along the way we have Inventors' Fair incidental lifegain and Deadlock Trap 's creature lockdown to help us stay alive a little longer.

Ideal Game:

T1: Land + Terrarion

T2: Land + Prophetic Prism/ Perpetual Timepiece /Glassblower's Puzzleknot/Metalspinner's Puzzleknot

T3: Land + Haunted Cloak/ Strider Harness

T4: Land + Hedron Archive, cast Metalwork Colossus for 1 and equip Haunted Cloak for 1 using Hedron Archive mana. Swing for 10.

Here's a breakdown of the card choices in the deck:

1 DROP:

4x Terrarion - cheap artifact that will let us filter through our deck if needed. Goes great with Metalwork Colossus second ability. Occasionally useful as a mana filter.

2 DROP:

4x Prophetic Prism + 1x Metalspinner's Puzzleknot - - cycle through the deck faster.

4x Glassblower's Puzzleknot - helps us dig 2 deep for our combo piece. The incidental energy is not essential.

2x Perpetual Timepiece - at 2 cards/turn in the graveyard Metalwork Colossus is bound to show up sooner or later. Also helps Sequestered Stash yield a more useful artifact.3 DROP:

4x Haunted Cloak + 3x Strider Harness - the 2 equipments make sure that Metalwork Colosuss hits the turn he shows up, leave our opponent no time to react. Haunted Cloak has the added benefit of trample/vigilance which deals with chump blockers.

4x Deadlock Trap - Lock down a crucial creature or planeswalker early, fend of agression. Once we have Metalwork Colossus in play we can tap blockers to get ALL the damage through ;).

4 DROP:

4x Hedron Archive - This guy does it all for us. It will shave of 6 mana from the cost of Metalwork Colossus; most times we'll be casting one after the other and equiping him the same turn. Can eventually be sacrificed to dig for more combo pieces. Be careful of sacrificing too early - when other options are present such as sacing Sequestered Stash/Inventors' Fair/Glassblower's Puzzleknot it's almost always the better option.

2x Diabolic Tutor - Usually an expensive tutor but fits the deck perfectly. Usually plays out as 5th and 6th copy of Metalwork Colossus but can sometimes be used for other combo pieces or for Noxious Gearhulk to deal with a problematic creature.

6 DROP:

1x Noxious Gearhulk - This is the gearhulk best fitting this deck - instantly destroying a creature and gaining us life helping us to stay alive a little longer so we can get our combo running. Great thing about him is we can only run 1 of him so we don't flood our combo-centered deck, but still get him out when needed using Inventors' Fair/Sequestered Stash/Diabolic Tutor.
