So the goal of this deck is essentially getting to cast As Foretold + Living End
a the most optimal time, usually on curve after cycling 2-4 times if you hit the cycling creatures, wiping the opponents board while reanimating your creatures.
The deck runs 3
Nimble Obstructionist
, who has plenty of utility, a solid 3/1 flyer that has flash, and my favorite tech is cycling it to counter an activated or triggered ability, a card that definitely you want to look to counter is
Chalice of the Void
's triggered "counter" ability which shuts down
Living End
and
Ancestral Vision
.
we have a sweet package of counter magic, while hard counters are the best you don't want to fill your opponents yard with creatures. With that being said, we run
Negate
as a means to counter any noncreature threat while
Remand
counters and puts back to the hand any creature you want to counter along with just about any other spell your opponent cant immediately recast AND you draw card, which is key for this deck.
Mainboard we run only 2 black sources of mana,
Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
to make a
Street Wraith
better, we run
Bojuka Bog
to exile your opponents yard if you need to cast
Living End
and dont want the opponent to net value.
Ghost Quarter
to keep the opponent off of their utility lands like Tron lands, Carvern of souls, and man lands.
Tolaria West
is used mostly to transmute into
Living End
,
Ancestral Vision
,
Bojuka Bog
, and the side board option of
Tormod's Crypt
.
Polluted Delta
is mostly used to thin the deck and improve scry from
Curator of Mysteries
and
Serum Visions
if you dont like what you see on top.
As for creatures some have utility beyond cycling them away, and even more so when they enter the board from
Living End
or even when you hard cast them.
Architects of Will
is to either disrupt your opponents draw or to fix yours.
Curator of Mysteries
is to scry,
Striped Riverwinder
is a big beater that has hexproof and beats most things in combat, and of course,
Nimble Obstructionist
who's utility is referenced above.
Thoughts when testing against most meta decks
The deck seems to really struggle against burn and boros burn as they play very little creatures,
Dispel
was added to the sideboard and
Negate
s have been moved to mainboard over the extra
Disallow
and
Mana Leak
.
Dispel
is a cheap answer to
Collected Company
and any other instant threats.
Another Architype the deck struggles against is anything heavy on hard disruption that targets combo pieces like
Living End
,
As Foretold
, and
Ancestral Vision
.
What the deck performs best against is creature heavy deck such as
Collected Company
.
Due to the random nature of
Hollow One
decks, its kinda of hit or miss in testing.
The deck is still being tuned to the meta and more side board options are being considered but hindered due to lack of funds, i know i should be running 2 more Layline of Sanctity in the sideboard to stop hand disruption and burn. A card im considering to put as a 2 of in the deck is
Drift of Phantasms
the reason being is you want to get to
As Foretold
more reliably dont know what to take out, maybe Architect of Wills and or Striped River Winder, the reason I say this, is that its possible for me to get to 6 mana, have
Living End
s in hand, no
As Foretold
.
