Adriana, Bargain of the Guard(<15$)

Commander / EDH* Aggro Budget RW (Boros) Theme/Gimmick

Snacrifice

Adriana, Bargain of the Guard

This is my Hyper-budget Adriana, Captain of the Guard deck

It was designed to be an incredibly budget conscious EDH deck along with other cheap generals with the end goal of giving them to new players at the table.

Design Goals/Philosophy- Every card in the deck should be close to or be less than 30 cents. (.30$) The only exception is the general, who should be roughly <1$(though cheaper is better). I use TCGplayer prices for this(NM/LP, whatever edition is cheapest). The goal is to be in a sub 15$ range for the entire deck, not counting any lands.

The cards should be relatively easy to understand and play. I find that the Commander decks are too complicated for players new to the game, but EDH is a format that is great for new players since it has a longer, casual shelf-life. These decks are meant to rectify that.

The decks should be somewhat competitive. Each should be strong enough to sit at a multiplayer table and have a chance to win.

Pretty sure that banding is not a card to include with a deck aimed towards newbs, but at least it's just one card. Be that as it may, I'm sure there are a number of cards that could replace it. Heck, Raise the Alarm is pretty nice.

Regardless, decent budget to give to newbs is an awesome plan. Besides, forcing a super-cheap budget makes you find cards like Grenzo's Ruffians and Custodi Soulcaller, both of which look fantastic. Battle Strain and Heat of Battle are also sweet.

Anax and Cymede don't seem to have much to trigger their Heroic ability. Then again, they're not bad on their own.

Overall, the battle plan of this deck seems easy enough for newbs and decent enough to win: swing everywhere with crazy melee dudes and make everybody kinda paranoid about blocking. Seems fun!

VegaBoralis257 Banding is a bit of a pain to explain, but it's worth it IMO since making a token at instant speed with banding specifically can counter an aggressive trampler. (that's also the reason for Defensive Formation) I admit it's also because I absolutely love the mechanic but it's incredibly useful as an instant-speed fog effect, that also has the upside of creating a dude if need be. On the opposite note, Holy Day was trending a little over 0.30$ last I checked, but now it's around .22$ so I'm going to swap those. Raise the Alarm is going to be put in to replace Brilliant Halo as well.
