Can't beat Rock.

An old phrase, but it still fits - like a glove. It's why the Abzan Midrange decks are so popular, why both the Abzan and Sultai Whip decks are so popular. It's why Jund saw all the play til they banned Deathrite Shaman in Modern, and Birthing Pod followed its example. Back to Standard now - still with me? Good. Because this is basically Pod - capable of aggressive starts, ramping into big creatures, holding the line into the late-game, and generating obscene card advantage. How? Well, let's see!

Yisan, the Wanderer Bard is the primary card-advantage cogpiece in the deck. While he is not necessary, everything revolves around him. He also holds great synergy with Kiora's Follower. Fun fact: Kiora's Follower + Prophet of Kruphix + Yisan, the Wanderer Bard is the nut! Anyway, Yisan makes this deck a toolbox, and with Chord of Calling, you can pretty regularly have access to anything you could ever need. Now, since we've covered the aforementioned obscene card-advantage aspect of the deck, lets go a bit further, shall we?

Every Rock deck needs a good ramp/colour-fixing package. Enter Elvish Mystic, Follower, and Sylvan Caryatid. Every Rock also needs some solid threats. Enter Siege Rhino, Reaper of the Wilds, and every card with cmc of 5 or higher. The synergies become more apparent the more you play with it - and it is a blast to play!

Comments and criticisms are more than welcome, as always, and +1 if you like it!
