This is one in a series of themed commander decks I have constructed using the now three Innistrad blocks. Not every card is from those sets but each deck is pushing a tribal theme from that block. The deck was originally using Geist of St. Traft, but I found him to be a little on the boring side. This time I decided to use the partner duo of Rhoda and Timin. They might lack the raw power but offer a new build angle. Tapping things down and controlling combat seems like a good way to do control in Commander. I try to prioritize cards from the Innistrad blocks because they are on theme. So if you see that I am missing a super synergistic card, it likely didn’t make the cut due to clashing with the gothic horror theme of the deck. Now I have worked on this series of decks for the better part of the last 10 years. There are 5 total and they were designed with combating each other in mind. My philosophy is that if none of them include core commander staples then none of them need those cards. I don’t like auto include cards. It seems like more and more commander decks just build themselves based on power levels of the cards. Drop me a suggestion if you find a spirit/haunted themed card that might fit the deck. Thanks
