Lightning Crafter Discussion
goblinguiderevealpls: For my regular playgroup I take out my Lightning Crafter (and also the Thornbite Staff). The sideboard I show here is cards I am playtesting or want to find a permanent slot for.
With that being said, I never used Goblin Ringleader, which meant I was always tutoring for them separately, or drawing them slowly. I will definitely have to use that instead to get it all cleanly like you laid out. Thanks for the advice!

how it works:
cast Goblin Recruiter and tutor in this order top to bottom
(Any other goblin you want to draw with ringleader here)
Play warchief and ringleader, drawing the last 3
Cast Kiki, then cast crafter, with the champion effect on the stack, tap kiki in response to make a token of crafter, champion kiki with the original crafter, and then champion crafter with its token, tap the crafter token for a Lightning Bolt sac the token to prospector, bringing in kiki jiki and crafter untapped, repeat this and you have infinite bolt damage and infinite

(shaman, shaman, shaman)
I hope you like shaman too
As an avid edh Wort, the Raidmother featuring the combo Of Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, and Lightning Crafter and shaman stuff, I like jund/gruul as much as i love grixis, always looking for new ways to play the colors in modern and edh, this deck gets my vote
Its subtly powerful and original, and well built

Ah Goblins, always a classic. Here are a few suggestions:
Lightning Crafter gives you some flexibility for damage by letting you zap blockers or hit face when there are to many blockers to get through.
Grenzo, Havoc Raiser and Disrupt Decorum both are really fantastic for mono-red, especially in aggressive decks. Swing all in with no fear of retaliation and make sure you have as little blockers as possible come your next turn since they are forced to attack afterwards.
From the new tribal decks: kindred charge and Herald’s Horn are a given. The horn can act as "card draw" as well which red can really use.

I have a tuned list that explodes SUPER fast out of nowhere can do infinite or hundreds of finite damage, its kind of a token/spell hybrid
Its not exactly budget but im not missing anything from the deck, if you want to know what a tuned and compeleted list looks like, give it a look and vote if you get any good ideas from it :) +1 for goblin edh
There's an infinite combo package you really should have in here thats not pricy
Goblin Recruiter fetching in this order top to bottom
Tutor and draw said goblins,
Make a token of crafter with kiki, champion kiki with the token, bolt something, sac the token to prospecter bringing in kiki untaps, repeat for infinite damage :D

Taking out Lightning Crafter and Thornbite Staff for now. This removes all of the infinites that are possible with the deck, but I never had fun doing those anyway, and they were definitely win-more cards with the way the rest of the deck is balanced. These, along with Mana Web/Stranglehold/Manabarbs, may make it back in for FNM outside of my regular playgroup.
This opened up slots for the fantastic Curse of Opulence and Kindred Charge from C17. The curse will fill the ramp spot that removing Treasonous Ogre made (without any negatives!), and Kindred Charge is just straight up stupid in any red tribal deck.
Still looking for a slot for Disrupt Decorum. Not only is it a really strong card, but it also fits this deck's playstyle very well.
I want to playtest Surveyor's Scope. The exile aspect is rough, but since I can all but guarantee that I can have less land that the other players, this is basically "free" goblins and landfall triggers for Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle. Put it on the stack and then crack a fetch in response and you are already at -1. In my regular playgroup this is good for 3-5 basic lands. You can use Rings of Brighthearth on it as well, so that helps.
I need a little more protection for the more important creatures, so getting a Swiftfoot Boots in to backup the Lightning Greaves is probably my best option in MonoRed. Not sure what to cut for it though.
As always, if you have any suggestions or criticisms, start screaming them at me!

There is certainly a liability of not getting to flicker Mairsil back with Tatsumasa, the Dragon's Fang, but I'm certain that you can throw him into the command zone when you're paying the costs to create the dragon token, from looking at 117.11 in the comp rules. I wasn't particularly torn from cutting Sengir Nosferatu as it would have been extremely vulnerable to letting Mairsil be perma-exiled, even if the rules did allow for him to be returned.
If there any Commander that wouldn't care about holding up 6 mana, it's probably this one. Haha. I probably should slot more counterspells... Ultimately I prefer Lightning Crafter to Spikeshot Elder right now, but the notion of being able to snag a few mana rocks seat Geth, Lord of the Vault high on my consideration list.
I'm not a huge fan of Windfall, as it has a huge potential to aid my opponents even more than myself, but I think you're definitely right about Divination being worse than Compulsive Research here. I'm surprised this one slipped my mind, honestly. It was one of the first draw spells I was introduced to starting to play magic.

Have you tried Shivan Harvest. It's a pet card of mine in red token decks. Trading a 1/1 for an opponent's land is a great way to set people behind.
Goblin Lackey seems like an obvious missed card.
You should replace Zealous Conscripts with Lightning Crafter for the combo with Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker. In a low tutor deck like this you almost never get off 2-card combos like Kiki/Zealous. Lightning Crafter works just as well and is tutorable by all your goblin tutors. Also it can pick off creatures for you.
Speaking of goblin tutors, Moggcatcher is worth considering, but might be a little slow here.
What the hell is Mycosynth Lattice in here for?
Mountainwalk isn't really that relevant, so Goblin King is really just a 3-drop that gives your creatures +1/+1. If there are any goblins you could cut, he's first in line.
