Pious Kitsune

Creature — Fox Cleric

At the beginning of your upkeep, put a devotion counter on Pious Kitsune. Then if a creature named Eight-and-a-Half-Tails is in play, you gain 1 life for each devotion counter on Pious Kitsune.

Tap, Remove a devotion counter from Pious Kitsune: You gain 1 life.

Cool deck!

Some suggestions(though the deck looks fun already!:D)

Fountain of Youth is a free drop, Braidwood Cup (also see Marble Chalice for a colored version) is the opposite- costs 3 to drop, but guarantees you trigger at least a counter on Karlov every turn. Skullmead Cauldron does the same but with an extra buff.

Alternatively, Pristine Talisman gives you the same thing for a few more cents and doubles as a mana rock :D

High Market got reprinted so it's super cheap now, Pious Kitsune gives you another white tap-to-gain-life. Druidic Satchel is good stuff that gets you life as well.Filigree Familiar is Solemn Simulacrum's cheaper pet.

keevel: Homestly, I didn't even know Obelisk of Urd existed. It definitely seems better though, I'll put it in instead. Thanks!

Lame_Duck: Yeah, I've been having some trouble with my mana base. I'll put it up to 22. Emeria, The Sky Ruin is just there because I like it to be honest. It barely ever comes online, but Eiganjo Castle will probably be alot more useful. Pious Kitsune has worked out most of the time as just a blocker. It's been quite rare that I've had it out at the same time as Eight-and-a-Half-Tails. I'll definitely replace it with Kitsune Blademaster. I'm only running two Eight-and-a-Half-Tails because of the legendary rule, but by itself I've found it to be very useful. I've been thinking of just putting Silverchase Fox in the sideboard, instead of mainboarding it. Not many people in my playgroup run enchantments.

Thanks alot for the suggestions and upvotes!

I don't think you're running enough lands; your curve is focused around 3 and goes all the way up to 5 and you've got tons of activated abilities and Secure the Wastes to make use of excess mana, so I would probably go up to at least 22 lands. Also, Emeria, The Sky Ruin seems really hard to trigger in this deck with just 16 Plains and no card draw - it's going to be really, really, really late game by the time you can get any use out of it - and coming into play tapped is a pretty big drawback in a deck that wants to be curving out smoothly. It's a powerful effect and I can see why you would want it but I wouldn't play more than 1. Something else to consider is Eiganjo Castle as a 1-of: it doesn't work so well with Emeria, The Sky Ruin so you might not want to include it if you keep the Sky Ruins but there are a lot of legendary creatures in Fox tribal and it's a cheap effect on a land with no inherent drawbacks.

How has Pious Kitsune worked out for you because on the face of it, the card looks really bad? It's fine if you've got an Eight-and-a-Half-Tails out but otherwise it's a 3 mana 1/2 that can tapped to gain 1 life, which is a pretty miserable creature, and you don't really want to run many 8.5 Tails because it's legendary so the Pious Kitsune just seems unreliable. I would suggest Kitsune Blademaster as a replacement, since it's a decently aggressive creature that can make good use out of all the pump effects you're running.

Silverchase Fox is another creature I've found pretty useful in Fox tribal, maybe as a replacement for Devilthorn Fox, although it obviously depends on how likely you think you are to face dangerous enchantments.

Anyway, +1; I'm always happy to see someone else give challenging tribal decks a try.

Liked the list you gave. Continued removing some cards but I forgot to put Eight-and-a-Half-Tails in with Pious Kitsune.

Even so, not sure if it'd be a good idea to keep them both considering I still need to narrow down.
