Enchantment

Whenever you cycle or discard a card, you may pay . If you do, each opponent loses 2 life and you gain 2 life.

axxein I'm really glad to hear you liked the deck. To answer your question about Sanguine Bond and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, I try to avoid having infinite combos in my decks as I don't really enjoy them and I wanted to keep the power level down. The other problem is that if people know you have an infinite combo in your deck, and see one of the pieces, they are immediately forced to target you to keep you from winning, something this deck can only sustain for so long. Truthfully though, i've never found I needed it. The deck is really consistent, does really well in multiplayer and even wins far more often in 1v1's than it makes sense to (I still have no idea how it beats full on aggro decks as often as it does), and is just fun to play. You deal a lot of damage from discard alone, have multiple other sources of damage, and i've never felt like I desperately needed Sanguine Bond to win. I never put the rest of the combo in as I felt that it would lose that. It would turn from an enjoyable game into one where if I draw 2 cards I just win.

In this case i'm actually running Exquisite Blood to help offset the life-loss from Tinybones, Trinket Thief. Once your engine is fully online you can easily lose 4 life per cycle just to him, which adds up quickly. In addition to that, we run Bolas's Citadel and Black Market Connections which both eat through our life fairly quickly. As such we have quite a bit of life gain in this deck to offset that. That's actually why we even run Gixian Puppeteer, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse (Who I would cut if I could find a comparable alternative who doesn't drain my opponents as that draws too much attention to me), Twilight Prophet, and Faith of the Devoted among other cards.

Thank you so much for the question and suggestions though, and i'm really glad you liked the deck!

How have Faith of the Devoted and Drake Haven worked for you? If your opponent gets one, wouldn't they be able to use those abilities?

I have a similar deck concept (never used it, just put together a deck list for building practice). I might borrow some updates from this list. Twist of Fate: Maniac

Hello,

If your looking for input and/or Suggestions you need to help us out and give and ideal what your looking for. Raffine, Scheming Seer is a great open ended commander that it's hard to help out w/out know the direction you aiming for. That said, what I found/find out with my deck and no matter how you play him you want to be attacking every turn, this tends to leave you open on the back swing so War Tax cards like Propaganda and Ghostly Prison or flip side play things like Heliod, God of the Sun and Odric, Lunarch Marshal (+ Vigilance toon out). Long story short your deck looks weak to the crack back.

Another thing I find is the Wonder is < Filth + Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
. Most of your team is sporting fly as is.

As for real suggestions how do you want to take him? +1/+1 you could play cards like Tenured Inkcaster or Oona's Blackguard
Reanimator Unburial Rites or Vohar, Vodalian Desecrator
Discard Bone Miser or Faith of the Devoted
wheel Queza, Augur of Agonies or Feast of Sanity

anyway, cheers and GL

Necrosis24 on DePietro and Channel?

This has made me realize I’ve been reading Ghost of Ramirez DePietro wrong this entire time. I thought his trigger was tied to the player that was dealt damage.

Well anyways my top pick for a partner would be Tormod, the Desecrator for all the graveyard shenanigans (i.e Living Death) and discard value.

Some high synergy cards would be:

Looking at channel tho there seems to be a higher density in temur so you would have access to better ramp and can do wheel/card draw affects. So perhaps Tana, the Bloodsower with:

  • Rielle, the Everwise

  • Brallin, Skyshark Rider  Flip
  • The Locust God + Wheels
  • Conspiracy Theorist
  • Mizzix's Mastery + Lier, Disciple of the Drowned
  • Glint-Horn Buccaneer
  • Surly Badgersaur
  • Otherwise you can go for purate tribal in izzet with Breeches, Brazen Plunderer or monoblue with Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator

    Syr Konrad, the Grim

Less what you want but still in the ballpark include Diplomacy of the Wastes, Faith of the Devoted and Feast of Sanity for symmetrical discard, Gibbering Descent, Midnight Oil if you can find a way to gift it but I'm not sure black is able to do so, Strongarm Tactics, Torment of Scarabs, Urgoros, the Empty One, Westgate Regent. Hope some of these suggestions help!

Argy Yes, i play FNM but only like 6 games, winning all 6. I played Saturday however and played against a 5 color cycling deck and one of my all-time favorite cards as a cycling player Faith of the Devoted It struggled a little bit, and almost won, but they snuck out a win.

Faith of the Devoted can go infinite with Skirge Familiar if you’re into combos. Has decent general value during cleanup step too

This deck looks pretty smooth as is. One consideration might be Skirge Familiar for the combo with Necropotence and Tinybones. If you like that, you may also like Faith of the Devoted as an alternative mana sink wincon to Tinybones. Check out my list which is very similar to yours.
