pinecone2k3, It's been sometime since your comment - I was more focused on trying to get the deck and deck page in a good place. For the longest time since I bought the precon I always treated the deck as a sort of afterthought, never putting it front and center - until now. The previously mentioned Cliffhaven Vampire and Marauding Blight-Priest seem irrelevant in the face of the new Vampire BFFs Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose and Bloodthirsty Conqueror. And Hall of Heliod's Generosity feels a bit too specific to really make an impact. What do you think of the updated list?

@kamarupa you might very well be right, but this was a fairly old project so I’ll have to take a good close look at it to see what exactly my thought process may have been (also, some of the cards suggested didn’t exist at this point, ha).

My initial thoughts are mixed. I like the recursive ability built into Hall of Heliod's Generosity, but its main function of tapping for is pretty useless.

Interaction is obviously good, but this will never be competitive in any sense of the word so I’m guessing I was leaning heavily into speed to try and stay ahead of anything onerous. So the mana dorks—they’re there for ramp yes but also so I wouldn’t have to sack Behemoth's Herald to its own tutor function (Godsire isn’t Legendary, so theoretically if you could get two out then all the better). So throwing an Arbor Elf away at that stage is better value than losing the Herald and missing out on two Godsires…es. Of course, that’s probably unlikely since it would require two copies of Figure of Destiny in play simultaneously, so maybe your idea is for the best after all.

I like it, but I think you're leaning a little too much on ramp and don't have any interaction spells. I suspect it can be more consistent and competitive with a few more lands and some protection and removal spells in the mainboard.

  • I gave the edge to Giver of Runes for having an additional toughness, and can also protect from colorless, which is a bit niche.

  • I addressed this in the Draw & Tutor part of my primer:

"Imperial Recruiter - An excellent option for this deck, especially given the potential for repeat uses. Recruiter of the Guard could be another supplemental option to Imperial Recruiter. She would be able to tutor up 18/34 creatures, with some overlap with the 22/34 that Imperial Recruiter can tutor."

I gave the edge to Imperial Recruiter since it can grab options like Professional Face-Breaker, Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, Preston, the Vanisher, and Burakos, Party Leaderfoil.

  • Hall of Heliod's Generosity is more so a contingency in case I recur any of my enchantments. It's niche, but I like it.

  • I run Vault of the Archangel in my Mardu/Orzhov aggro decks, espcially if they have the Treasure support in the mid-game to threaten or actually use the activation. It's worked for me before.

I have deck like this. You might find it worth reviewing, though I included blue in mine: Manic Enchantress. It's pretty funny, too, as it's a self-mill by card draw deck. I win with a slightly cheaper paper version more often than my friends would like.

My advice for your deck is to cut 2x Sythis (Legendary) and instead include 2xEnchantress's Presence and to include something like Rancor to provide you Yavimaya Enchantress some evasion. I'd also strong recommend Hall of Heliod's Generosity.
