Lots of ramp, creatures with ETB effects, value from Riku, tempo and tokens. Until we trade everything in for random cards off the top!! Its like magical roulette!!
I have only bought Simic colored cards for my Magic Online account.

Tokens and ramp spells can make you win in one attack all the time. Its very satisfying.

Generic Omanth big mana voltron craziness. It's fun to play but not terribly hard to beat.

This is my first seriously favorite online deck. Lots of mana dorks and ETB creatures and free spells and card advantage. Plus it's a Genesis Wave/Primal Surge deck too, which is obviously super fun.

Fun beatdown big green deck.

This deck is my attempt to make an online graveyard recursion creature sacrifice deck in Simic colors like my Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest paper deck.

It's fun to draw a card from casting everything.

Explosive Druid tribal. Works better than that sounds if you don't know about it. Druids are like Elves, but they all act like haste-y mana dorks because of Seton, Krosan Protector.

My collection of paper EDH decks has been meticulously crafted for maximum power and mutual gameplay fun, while still maintaining a reasonable budget. Each one is different colors, different strategies, and different power levels from each other for playing against different kinds of opponents. I enjoy being able to play with different decks all the time to keep things interesting. I designed them all to be their own individual experiences, with as few overlapping cards and strategies as possible.

Except for Sol Ring, its in almost every deck. I own 15 of them now.

You can see from the picture that I have them all in their own deck boxes, each with a custom label on top. They are also all double sleeved and each box even contains the tokens the deck uses. No sense going to the trouble of assembling these decks and not making them nice to use and well protected.

My tier system is basically figured out by comparing and battling my decks against each other and vs. other people in my meta. How consistently and quickly it can win is a big factor, so is how much removal it has in it. I've seen other people have very complicated and specific ways of calculating the tier of a deck... mine is basically done by gut feeling and personal gameplay experience. Occasionally the decks shift up and down in my list when they get improved or outclassed by their peers.

Generally speaking control strategies and super efficient combo decks are tier 1, tuned mid-range battlecruiser decks are tier 2 and slower, more budget, or weird theme/tribal decks are tier 3 and below.

I just started my online account in December 2016. I have never opened a digital pack or done a draft online, so all the cards were bought as singles.

Many EDH power cards are waaaay cheaper online than on paper (although some vice versa), and I try to acquire as many of them as possible. So far my whole collection is currently only in Simic colors, which has helped me budget wise a lot. I have a bunch of decent to pretty good decklists figured out so far. I love deck building, its half the fun of this game for me. And the warm fuzzy feeling of ramping and countering spells is the other half of the fun.

I buy all my Magic Online cards from Cardhoarder.com, because their service and selection is the best. If you use the referral link below to start a new account, you and I will each get 1 free Event Ticket credit to their store to buy singles! I have always been a deck builder. I learned Magic in 1994 while I was in middle school. I distinctly remember a deck I built after Alliances came out that nobody at my school wanted to play against...it was something like 20x lands and all x4 ofs Sinkhole, Stone Rain, Hymn to Tourach, Dark Ritual, Lightning Bolt, Incinerate, Ball Lightning, Hypnotic Specter, Balduvian Horde, Order of the Ebon Hand. Later I got to play standard (then called type 2) with Fact or Fiction and Cunning Wish and Upheaval + Psychatog and it was awesome. Eventually I felt I was done with the game and sold all my cards. So many cards...that are so much more valuable now than when I sold them. It was a huge mistake that I don't even like to think about. When the first Commander precons came out, it got me back in...I bought all 5 of those decks, and it helped jump start a new collection. I've been Commandering ever since.

I am new to EDH and I was wondering if you could help me optimize my deck? I have been getting crushed at my local game store and by my friends so I have decided that I need to improve my deck (I use to play with a Phenax, God of Deception deck). I found a Sidisi, Brood Tyrant deck by Viodia and decided that I was going to make it my own (Budget is roughly $300). Here's what I have so far:

Thanks in advance for all of the help.

Clues feels like a pretty shallow mechanic to build around for EDH. Its just slow card draw, and there aren't enough payoff cards to make them that great. Mechanized Production is a way to make them actually do something but they aren't very powerful alone. I'd stick with energy for the deck, diluting the primary strategy with clues seems unnecessary and non-synergysitc.

Said on Hubs on the ......

#2

First off I want to say this is my favorite magic site on the internet. I love it and use it and recommended it to people all the time. However Ive been thinking it would be great if there was an easier way to browse through the hubs. Like if Hubs was an option in the drop down main menu or homepage somewhere it would make a lot of sense to me. The hubs seem like one of the top levels of deck organization, and would be a great starting point for users like me who want to quickly browse through new decks in a more specific category. The relatively open and basically arbitrary categories featured on the main home page currently: top, featured, help, etc. are great but very random feeling. I know adding another item to your interface is probably not what you want to do, but I really think it would improve the site. If Hubs was an option to choose from on the home screen I would more easily be able to browse decks that I'm specifically interested in. Like if we could narrow the decks displayed on the main page by selecting from hubs (and maybe also formats) from a sidebar that starts hidden off to the side or something. It doesn't have to be nearly as complex as the advanced search area. Hubs and deck format are the big categories that I wish were easier to access. Thanks for the great work you all are awesome.

Temur Sabertooth is another bounce engine for making infinite mana, with a decent body attached too.

January 9, 2018 1:01 p.m.

I haven't tried the Dramatic Scepter combo here yet. It might be good enough to include, but I'm not a big fan of the Scepter without more instants to use with it. There isn't that many tutors to put the combo together currently either, so it would require quite a few cards to change to include the combo in a reasonable way. Not a bad idea for this strategy, but I'm not sure where to fit it in exactly.

Said on Pass of Prossh...

#11

Hey! Ive been playing Prossh since his release, he's a favorite of mine. I have some tips for you..

  • You want to cast Prossh asap, so I would include lots of Mana ramp. Also you actually can lower your overall land count a little bit at the same time. If you have 10 sources of Mana acceleration 35 lands is probably just right.

  • Having sacrifice outlets on other cards is not nearly as important because your commander has that ability already. Mostly you want effects that trigger when creatures come into play or die. Having cards that make lots of tokens however is still good even though it overlaps with your commander because you want the biggest army you can make.

  • Im a big fan of creature based pump spells like Ogre Battledriver or Reckless Bushwhacker because they can also be sacrificed for that last point of commander damage.

  • I would also cut a bunch of your seven drops because your Mana curve is kind of high.

  • You can also check out my list for ideas:

Tishana, Voice of Thunder is an upgrade on Regal Force, try it out. If you wanted another cut for another card, I would look at Selvala's Stampede. You don't have many expensive creatures you are trying to cheat into play, so it seems like it will under perform here.

January 8, 2018 2:23 p.m.

They are basically interchangeable you can swap them between the 99 and command zone before each game for variety. Daretti is my personal preference though.

Not much like Scroll Rack out there...except maybe Sensei's Divining Top. I think Leashling is maybe a stretch because it mostly sucks big time but it could be interesting you could activate it multiple times in response to itself and put a bunch of cards on top before going off with extra attacks, and Sunbird's Invocation is just my favorite new red card.

January 2, 2018 7:58 p.m.

Forgot Scroll Rack! Great list though, fast too :)
