Rzepkanut Deckling

We are the Borg. Use the force. The spice must flow. Right through my TARDIS.

That's right, I love sci-fi. Not much of that flavor in M:tG but it's still the best game ever. I have always been a deck builder, ever since I learned the game back in the 90's while I was in middle school. I got to play standard ( then called type 2) with Cunning Wish and Upheaval + Psychatog and it was awesome. Later I took a hiatus from playing and sold all my cards slowly while I was in college. When the first Commander precons came out, it got me back into the game...and since I bought all 5 of those decks it helped jump start a new collection. I've been Commandering ever since.

Got a deck you want me to see? No problem!! Just ask. Have a great day, and as always, Happy Gathering!!

If you want to really take advantage of your commanders cost reduction ability you need more colorless creatures that can be played with it. Especially ones that draw cards like Kozilek, Butcher of Truth and Kozilek, the Great Distortion.

If Shu Yun isn't part of the game plan anyways you could switch to Zedruu the Greathearted just to fake out people with hopes of group hug before you start to combo.

Maybe try out Oath of Jace and Oath of Gideon.

Cunning Wish can grab a card that's stranded in exile. Illusionist's Bracers combos with Aphetto Alchemist to make infinite untaps, could be good. Its better in decks with more mana rocks though. Cards that give phasing like Vanishing and Reality Ripple can blink Kaho without losing the imprinted exiled cards.

Yeah my magic budget is tiny. I don't even own a Verdant Catacombs, and the fetches I do actually own and could use here are elsewhere in my deck collection fixing mana colors. I try to trade for them whenever possible. That's a good notice though, they are conspicuously absent.

I think Scrap Trawler should be good here. Maybe you could add Illusionist's Bracers + Aphetto Alchemist for another infinite combo. Both cards can do other useful things on their own in this deck. Happy gathering!

This deck is extremely similar to one of my decks!! I hear great minds think alike :) This list looks pretty good already, but I have a few ideas that work for me to suggest to you...

Here's a link to my version of this deck: Rafiq of the Hexproof Enchantress

Happy gathering!

Animar is fun, its got so many possibilities. If you are just trying to combo off fast look into acquiring Cloudstone Curio. When I used to have an animar deck I would try to keep it down to about 10-12 noncreature/nonland cards in the deck to increase the explosive potential. Like Fog could be Spore Frog if you wanted to switch. Happy gathering!

Maybe you didn't know about Firecat Blitz either then. It's the only other spell really like them. Molten Birth gets a honorable mention :)

The card Richard Garfield, Ph.D. literally just let's you play an old variant called "mental magic" that we used to play at card shops in the 90's. In addition to the Richard card's ability, in that variant any card can be played face down instead and it would be a City of Brass that didn't hurt. Playing mental magic was always like an unending war of counterspells and cantrips. The big difference from that variant is that when your commander isn't out the cards are actually what they say they are. I would start with a basic shell of effects that just draws cards and builds up your mana so you can get the doctor down asap. I think I would probably make a short list of favorite cards for each casting cost. Cards that control, cards that draw, that make infinite mana. Maybe if its organized somewhat you should be able to move quickly enough to keep folks from bitching while you think of a card to win with. If you have a great memory you can just learn some combos that do crazy stuff and pick a different one each time. I suppose you should try and research combos you want to include and find budget cards that don't suck with the same casting cost. Good luck, I'd love to see what you come up with. If you think of sharing it with me I'll give you more feedback. Happy gathering!

Temur Sabertooth is a great bounce engine. I think maybe Tempt with Vengeance could be explosive enough to be included, it seems like having elemental creatures in play with Omnath is very powerful. Rakka Mar too.

There is a card actually named Darkness. And Xantid Swarm and Fog of Gnats seems like locusts to me, but there is a card named Locust Swarm too anyways. Fun deck idea I like weird themes.

Heliod, God of the Sun, Pharika, God of Affliction and to a much lesser extent Fated Intervention make enchantment creature tokens and don't suck...the other cards that make similar tokens all need to be "inspired" to trigger and are kinda sucky. I see you aren't doing the voltron thing much but Helm of the Gods, Ancestral Mask, Auramancer's Guise, Eidolon of Countless Battles, Ethereal Armor, & Kor Spiritdancer are so good in most enchantment decks. Happy gathering!!

The most powerful thing the zombie tribe has going for it are all the lords. Its what makes a few 2/2 tokens into a scary horde of death. There are ones that pump black creatures and ones that pump zombies to choose from. Some are cheaper than others but these are all around 3$ and under: Hall of Triumph, Bad Moon, Ascendant Evincar, Cemetery Reaper, Metallic Mimic, Paragon of Open Graves

In my experience with using this commander, having too many cards that just recycle dead creatures should be unnecessary with this deck. The whole point of using this commander is that it does that job pretty well already. I would just use a couple of the best.

Personally I found River Kelpie, Secrets of the Dead and Necromancer's Stockpile underwhelming and ineffective in actual gameplay. Almost anything that just normal draws cards is better than them. Graveborn Muse can be such a draw engine you have to kill it after a few turns but its amazing. I also love Curse of Shallow Graves its so great. And lastly, Conspiracy is nuts, it makes it so you can cast any creature from your graveyard and the commander gets pumped from zombie lords then too. Happy gathering!

Maulfist Revolutionary can give you another couple experience counters if you have one already. Thrummingbird and Skyship Plunderer can do it every turn.

My favorite pump spells you aren't running for this deck are Gaea's Anthem, Captain's Claws, Quietus Spike, Empyrial Plate, Sword of the Animist, Beastmaster Ascension and Pathbreaker Ibex. You can also get a lot of millage out of Kessig Cagebreakers, usually the deck ends up with a bunch of dead 1/1 critters in the yard by the 6th or so turn. Happy gathering!

Stranglehold makes Timesifter only give you extra turns. Its not about milling.

Stranglehold + Timesifter is hilarious. Other ideas: Fevered Visions, Puca's Mischief, Storm Cauldron, Standstill, Illusionist's Gambit, Mind's Dilation.... looking at your list I feel like you could use a few more mana rocks also. Not sure what to recommend cutting. Maybe cut the mill cards like Crumbling Sanctuary, Pyxis of Pandemonium.

April 15, 2017 8:06 a.m.

Skyship Plunderer too.. also you can blink Maulfist Revolutionary or the Amonkhet card Quarry Hauler with something like Conjurer's Closet.
