A truly evil deck

Commander Deck Help forum

Hi guys! I have been playing a lot of Undertale lately, and there is a character I wanna build an EDH deck around. This character is essentially a god with the power to manipulate the game itself to it's favor.

I wanna build a deck based off taking extra turns and controlling opponent's turns, stealing their spells, and just super heavy control. Guys wanna throw some card suggestions my way to create a truly horrifying deck?

So far I know of Worst Fears, Mindslaver, Sorin Markov, Aethersnatch, and Commandeer, but is there more spells or cards along these lines?

I have an Empress Galina EDH deck that copies and steals and it is just fun all around. Blue has a lot of fun cards so here are my suggestions:

Beguiler of Wills
Bribery
Control Magic
Desertion
Dominate
Dominating Licid
Gather Specimens
Gilded Drake
Keiga, the Tide Star
Roil Elemental
Sphinx Ambassador
Treachery
Acquire
Steal Artifact
Steal Enchantment
Thada Adel, Acquisitor
Blatant Thievery
Confiscate
Volition Reins
If you only want cards that target spells instead of permanents then the only one I can really think of is Spelljack. There are plenty that redirect though.

I know there's also plenty of ways you can combo with Mindslaver to use it over and over.

Anyway, good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions. While I did manage to add some of these already, I also realized I failed to specify my commander.

This will be a Dragonlord Silumgar EDH deck

Nicol Bolas as general or go home!

Except, the problem here is that he doesn't do what I want the general to do. Also, I would prefer a two color deck over tricolor for this build.

There is also the famous "Eyes" card, Word of Command.

Don't see very many of them anymore.

Blue, white, and black, are your best options here.

Merieke Ri Berit.

Some untap engines, a little bit more of the d-baggy you are getting ready to put together and suddenly success.

I expressed that I wish the deck to be dual color and not tricolor. Also I have finished the build and shall post it once my description is done.

Wouldn't Sen Triplets work well as a general? For the flavour of controlling other people, that is. Also, if playing with white, Odric, Master Tactician and effects that let you choose how things block would work well

It'd be nice, but it still takes away the fact I want it to be dual colored. I have finished the deck, so here it is

Howdy! It's me, Your Best Nightmare!

Sorry, didn't read previous posts about wanting to be dual colour.

If you're looking for any more target changing effects there's always Redirect. Hive Mind is more group hug/chaos-y so you probably wouldn't want that, but it does fit the theme. Memory Plunder is an alright card to play cards from the opponent's deck, Telepathy gives you a bit more power over the other players as they can't pull any surprises (it doesn't technically do anything though, keep that in mind), I just discovered Planeswalker's Mischief, it seems interesting but it could be situational, and Wrexial, the Risen Deep also seems like an interesting card.

Of course, none of these cards are overwhelmingly good, just some suggestions in case one of them strikes your fancy

I will say I am a bit surprised you don't have more enchantments that gain control of creatures, but I could understand if you are trying to avoid hexproof or just don't like them. Another choice that could prove useful is Arcane Lighthouse/Glaring Spotlight, not really to do with taking control, but it definitely feels oppressive when one has few ways of protecting their creatures from the opponent. On the other hand, you do have a lot of counterspells/fieldwipes which don't really care about hexproof, so there's that

I appreciate your choice to stick with UB as the combo fits very well with the theme. I usually prefer white as it has a lot of ways to protect creatures from removal such as Ghostway and Gideon's Phalanx, but all in all that is mainly just opinion. Black has plenty of ways to get things back from the graveyard anyways so now that I think of it it would work out the same either way

I have a mono-blue deck that is designed around complete control of your opponent's creatures.

Creature Control III

Bribery, Confiscate, Gilded Drake, Equilibrium, Ice Floe... I use a bunch of Counterspell, Mana Leak, Boomerang, and Unsummon early in the duel to keep my opponent in check until I have what I need in play or in hand to take over the game.

I realize, of course, that you're asking in regards to Commander, but hopefully some of the cards I use will give you ideas. ;)
