Plans for the Deck

Creatures

Thing in the Ice  For all of the Instants that are in my deck it seemed like a perfect addition. It's a great defender on it's own, but once it's flipped because of all of my instants it becomes an instant powerhouse.

Torrential GearhulkThe flash ability by itself makes it great for a control deck. Added to the fact that I can play any Instant card from my graveyard without having to pay mana cost, CHA-CHING! What a bonus.

This is my second deck (First Modern Deck) and a work in progress. All recommendations would be appreciated. I would like to be able to compete in a Modern FNM without spending a fortune if possible.

My whole idea with this is to be able to counter everything that is sent my way. With a little burn thrown in to keep the opponent on their toes. Also, with Torrential Gearhulk, AEtherling, and Thing in the Ice   I'd have plenty of option for an end game strategy.

My first deck that I made, which I thought was a modern deck, turned out not to be much of a modern deck. I was given some great advice though and it helped steer me into this current deck that I created.
