I like the deck. Atraxa is really alluring to build around and is fantastic in many situations!

If you are looking for more counters, Mikeaus, the Lunarch puts a counter on everything, proccing things like Hardened Scales or Doubling Season while making everything beefier, good for stuff like Fathom Mage or Crystalline Crawler. At his core he is still just utility for this deck.

You should definitely try to get a Gyre Sage in there, she is cheap and extremely efficient. In comparison, Crystalline Crawler cost and generates about 2 any color mana per turn (assuming Atraxa is out). Gyre Sage generates more and more mana as she gets counters, although it is all green you can still ramp out.

Nissa, Voice of Zendikar and Ajani Steadfast both smother your creatures in counters. Nissa comes out fast if you have and can generate blockers for herself. Atraxa will grow tokens if you put a counter on them which is conveniently Nissa's -2. With Ajani, he can give your creatures a counter and vigilance every turn. Atraxa will give him another loyalty counter at the end of the turn, so he can constantly use his -1.

If you truly want to make Proliferate great again, Inexorable Tide is exactly what you're looking for. With the option to proliferate for each spell, the counters on your creatures will skyrocket to monstrous proportions. This is the card for what your deck stands for.

GoldenDiggle: Thanks for the suggestions! Those are great cards, what do you think I should cut for them?

Enral: That's a good question. I'm not great at cuts, so bear with me.

Thrummingbird is good for proliferate, but since you mostly use proliferate to get counters, I'd say that Mikeaus is stronger as a card. Mikeaus gives a counter every turn without having to depend on combat damage. Perhaps if you had more stuff with charge counters, planeswalkers, and other counter types, the bird would be better, but for just +1/+1 I think Mikeaus is more consistent.

It looks like you don't have a lot of blue cards in the deck, more green. I wonder if it would be worth taking Simic Signet so you can slip in a Gyre Sage. If not, then I'm sure another mana source that isn't needed could be substituted.

Its hard to say what to take out for the walkers... Counter generation? Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit is nice that its foil, but I'd rather see an Ajani in my hand. They both cost , Ajani cost more but gets counters on everything.

Inexorable Tide is probably one of the best counter generators for you to have. Citadel Siege also puts counters down at a much slower rate, and they are single target. So I would look at that first.

i would think that Everflowing Chalice could be good with proliferate because you get to ramp by one mana every end step!
also is there a reason you are running rampant growth over Cultivate or Kodama's Reach?
finally one of my favorite non crazy expensive planeswalkers is Jace, Unraveler of Secrets - plus him for card advantage, his minus is solid point removal, and if you get to ultimate him it is almost certainly game. with as many creatures and proliferate effects as you have you might be able to protect him long enough to use his ultimate.

I do like the idea of Lux Cannon, I also think that Contagion Engine would be a good add. Also Ajani Steadfast would be good, instead of Ajani Goldmane. Brago, King Eternal and Eldrazi Displacer are good ways to abuse Deepglow Skate, as well as any other "when x enters the battlefield", as well as Panharmonicon. Those are just some of the cards I would think strongly about adding.

Darksteel Reactor for alternate wincon

You may want to add Novijen, Heart of Progress if you want some redundancy to Oran-Rief, the Vastwood. I use both in my Ezuri deck.

DrLitebur: Thanks for your suggestions, Ajani Steadfast definitely look like a good alternative. Will test them out!

JohannKlink: Darksteel Reactor sounds like a great wincon. Thanks for your suggestions!

Herbysmoke: No idea how I missed that card, Novijen is an excellent addition! Also might test out Ezuri now that you mentioned it.

Ok love the deck but how is banding and walls not a thing? Building a wall with other people's resources, making magic great again, etc. +1 from me either way

i would use all of the "Vivid" lands

Vivid Creek

Vivid Grove

Vivid Marsh

Vivid Meadow

they work with Proliferate for unlimited mana combos since they wont run out of counters

krownvekta says... #14

Instead of the Vivid Lands why not go for the infinitely better depletion lands that give you 2 mana of the color. You proliferate the counter and thus have lands that give you 2 mana per tap. Or I guess you could be crazy and run all of them. But I see that backfiring hard.

Since Doubling Season is so insanely good in this deck, why not add some more tutors to fetch it like Enlightened Tutor or Idyllic Tutor?

Profet93 says... #17

proteus staff indicates only as a sorcerry, so you can't do it every turn and as such is not a vampiric tutor.

I like the deck, +1 from me.

What is the purpose of greaves, when you take their creature with jace ult, or protecting Deepglow?

August 6, 2017 3:26 p.m.

Enral says... #18

Profet93: Hey, thanks for the +1! The vampiric tutor analogy is to illustrate how I can literally stack my entire library in any order I like. I guess it's not a perfect one so I've removed it and have updated that section to list the winning piles I usually would take.

The purpose of greaves is to protect Atraxa and protect the stolen creatures I've taken with Jace's ultimate.

Enral Wow fail, that was obvious. Sorry, taking some new meds. This decklist seems solid. Might I possibly recommend Contamination as it can create a soft lock with Bitterblossom, moreover, it can stop opponents from playing anything other than colorless or black spells. Yawgmoth's Will for recursion?

Enral says... #20

Profet93: Great suggestions. I'm trying to stay away from stax and make it more friendly for my playgroup as it has already garnered enough attention and hate already but will definitely consider Yawgmoth's Will.

Read through as much as I could and I have to ask why no lilliana or ob nixilis? The Ob Nixilis of the Black Oath or Ob Nixilis Reignited are both pretty good as are most lilliana. I am just curious.

Enral says... #22

Hyperalgialysis: I really like either ob nixilis but there are only so many slots I can have for planeswalkers and unfortunately they did not make the final cut. I feel like the Superfriends list is a pretty flexible and ultimately is up to the pilot's preference which planeswalker serves that meta better.

Lord.of.Innistrad: That card doesn't impact the board as much as I like too. I prefer hard removals in that case.

Bezter says... #25

It was more for proliferating your permanents rather than removal :)
