Smash Up Battlebox

Smash Up Battlebox is a format where players randomly select two of fifteen $25 Budget half-decks featuring each of the Partner Commanders and combine them into a single EDH deck. Discover the synergies and combos between the various combinations of decks!

Budget Thrasios for Smash Up Battlebox is a landfall deck using land-drops to trigger effects and the mana advantage to bully opponents out of the game.

Failed Iterations include:

• Topdeck Manipulation featuring Vizier of the Menagerie and Courser of Kruphix - Failed due not having bombs able to close out games in a meaningful way.

Lessons Learned:

Simic is such a strong EDH color combo, it feels great generating tons of synergistic triggers that results in card draw and cheating things into play, but at the end of the day you need to be able to kill opponents. Going back to a strictly landfall-centric deck takes advantage of the fact that the core component of our strategy, Lands, exists in large numbers in all decks.
