So, my current 'main deck' is a RG Pummeler deck(RG Energy). I was womped at FNM by a speed red.

So, can speed red be juiced up with energy? Cards like Lathnu Hellion and Greenbelt Rampager are so powerful, but, require consistent energy sources to drop and maintain. I started trying to stay in mono red. I quickly realized in order to have enough of an energy bank I would need other sources just not available in red. Green provides those energy sources we need early in the game. Plus I would get to run Greenbelt Rampager !

So here's the breakdown:

First round we want to play Attune with Aether to get the Energy flowing. Bomat Courier is our other first round play. Gives us some mid game card advantage and some early damage.

On turn 2, ideally, we want to go from Attune with Aether into a Greenbelt Rampager throw on the Cartouche of Zeal and swing for 4 unblockable. But, we also have the Thriving Grubs keeping with the energy (might swap for Longtusk Cub ) and Bloodrage Brawler who is a little slower but a beast turn 3.

Turn 3 is dominated by Lathnu Hellion . He's fast and powerful. With any luck we'll be able to produce enough energy to keep him in play for a few turns to finish the game. Or, we can save on that energy to play our straight to head finisher Aethertorch Renegade .

We also run Harnessed Lightning , Shock , and Highspire Infusion for a good mid range of removal and pump to round out the deck.

Sideboard Appetite for the Unnatural for nasty vehicles and Marvel, Magma Spray for Scrapheap Scrounger and Embalm, Deadlock Trap to control Chandra etc, and a few Woodweaver's Puzzleknot in case we run into another agro deck.
