I like it.

Going hard on the spore counter route, you may consider Evolution Sage.

To make room for her, I'd consider cutting Bramble Elemental since he's 5cmc and you don't have many auras. You may want to consider evolving wilds and terramorphic expanse as well for their landfall triggers (you have 1 or 2 other landfall cards in the deck already).

Also, what are your thoughts on Death Mutation? I like and dislike this card. The ceiling is potentially high but it could also be a dead card at 8cmc. I would run Murder or Putrefy over this but still just want to see this card in the wild succeed just once.

But again. Good job on the deck. There are a lot of cards here I never would have considered because I don't think I've seen so many of them. Now I have to take a second look at how well some of these might play out.

If you're going to be fungi tribal, run Thelon of Havenwood as your commander.

If you're going to be saproling tribal, Ghave makes more sense, although you'll probably want to lean away from fungi and into Tendershoot Dryad, Verdant Force, Verdant Embrace, Necrogenesis, Verdeloth the Ancient, Aura Mutation, Death Mutation, Jade Mage, Nemata, Grove Guardian, Seed Spark, and Morbid Bloom.

If you just want pure power, Ghave combos by accident. I'm not sure how popular he is now, but he was considered cEDH at one point. Check out his EDHREC page.

I have replaced Mirari with Arcane Encyclopedia and Death Mutation with Putrefy , which lowered the average converted mana cost of this deck from 4.23 to 4.11, which is a very good thing.

I feel that Death Mutation is way to highly costed for what it does. I feel from a design standpoint it should have been 5 total cmc. What a terrible card at 8 cmc

bushido_man96, I actually had Putrefy in those decks when I first built them, but replaced it with Assassin's Trophy when that card was released, but I should have replaced Death Mutation with that card, instead.

Also, on this subject, why is death mutation so expensive compared to the other mutations? The others are far less expensive, so it makes no sense for only one of them to have such a high cost.

It's really not much of a contest. Death Mutation has a CMC that is too high and is sorcery speed. Putrefy , although more limited than other removal spells, is much better. If you want to go a little better, consider Beast Within over even Putrefy , or along side it if you're looking for more removal.

I run Death Mutation in one deck, and it's a Saproling tribal jank deck, and I run it for the Saproling theme. That's it.
