I'm suggesting it because a 7/7 with Haste on Turn 5 is awesome.

You also can't get rid of it with any spell that targets nonland permanents.

There are enough Mountains in this deck to make it viable.

"With my commander out, Lightning Helix becomes 6 damage(that I can split in half) and 6 life." Actually it is more - 9 damage and 6 life. 3 damage from the lifelink of the spell, 3 damage from the spell itself and 3 damage from the last paragraph of the minotaur.

If you make a red damage spell white with 8.5 tails, it will lose the lifelink granted by the commander and will not trigger the commander's last paragraph.

Read the rules interactions on this commander (part of the release notes) very carefully

Suns_Champion: As a first stab, I'd check into all of the old Tamanoa lists floating around the internet. Personally, I'd build this as more of a 1v1 burn/tempo list, but obviously mass damage-based sweepers will give you massive life swings. I'll think on it :) Currently my mind is consumed by the new Jhoira...

"Whenever a white instant or sorcery spell causes you to gain life, Firesong and Sunspeaker deals 3 damage to target creature or player." Lifelink on WR spell does technically cause damage with this Minotaur Legend!

3 damage from the spell. That spell gains lifelink, so you gain 3 life from that + 3 from the text of the card.So you gain life twice from a white spell, giving you an extra 3x2 damage.

Righteous Confluence, if you choose the last mode 3 times, will gain you 15 life and cause 3 Bolts!

White redirection effects are particularly good - Deflecting Palm will gain lifelink and create 2 bolts in addition to its normal effect! Sun's Bounty is an awesome effect and combines well with Worthy Cause! Reaping the Rewards turns every Plains into a Bolt! Incidental lifegain like Blessed Alliance becomes awesome when you add a Bolt to it.

I cannot even imagine how much damage and life you will do/gain from Brightflame.

Warleader's Helix is also awesome - 8 life and 4+3+3 damage!

Boros Charm gains you 8 life, while letting you do 4+3+3 damage!

Boros Reckoner? I also think it would be best to look at blaze commando Pauper edh decks for a direction

You have two Boros Charms.

Oh! Wildfire and Burning of Xinye could do work!!

Also, it's worth mentioning that Reiterate+big mana ritual (such as Mana Geyser is a completely viable win-con here. You can just chain any burn spell after that for infinite life/damage.

I'm sure you know but... you are aware Painter's Servant is banned in EDH right?

Mizzix's Mastery and Volcanic Vision could be viable in this deck. They also gives Boros some needed card advantage/recursion

I also recommend considering Isochron Scepter. Lightning Helix or Boros Charm on a stick would be killer in this deck

Have you considered the Stuffy Doll route yet, Boros Reckoner and Blasphemous Act ? Try to make as much stuff of your's indestructible with Hammer of Nazahn, Darksteel Plate and both copies of Avacyn (Archangel Avacyn  ^Flip, Avacyn, Angel of Hope) and spam effects like Earthquake, Rolling Earthquake which turn into one-sided boardwipes with an additional upside?

Rad deck. Id love to see a Searing Wind for the meme plays.

crowned Thanks for the comment! Stuffy Doll, Spitemare, Boros Reckoner, Coalhauler Swine etc are good options, I'm just not sure if I like them or if they're worth running. I'll definitely try them out at some point. I can't do the full indestructible set up though, it takes too many slots away from the main theme and sub theme.

You could do with more ways to protect the minotaur at the helm. Might I suggest Magebane Armor and Command Beacon?
