Maybeboard

This is my very first deck, and I'm super excited to share it with all of you. I've always been a fan of LOTR and Gandalf, and that's why I chose "Gandalf, Westward Voyager" as my commander. My aim was to curate a deck that not only resonates with the Gandalf vibe but also stands strong in gameplay.

While building this deck, I prioritized cards that aesthetically and thematically matched the Gandalf vibe. From the wise "Galadriel of Lothlorien" to the ancient "Fangorn, Tree Shepherd," I tried to capture the essence of Middle-Earth in this deck. However, I must admit, that finding cards that perfectly fit the aesthetic was a challenge. As a result, I had to include some cards that, while not a perfect thematic match, were essential for the deck's functionality and synergy.

I would genuinely appreciate any comments, suggestions, or feedback you might have. I'm eager to fine-tune this deck and make it as competitive and cohesive as possible. If you spot any cards that could be replaced or if you have recommendations for cards that would fit the Gandalf theme even better, please let me know!

Here is a description of Both Decks (Main and Maybe):

The Main Deck is a Green-Blue (Simic) deck that combines the power of nature and the mysteries of the sea. With a total of 100 cards, it is led by "Gandalf, Westward Voyager" as the commander. The deck features a mix of creatures, spells, and lands that synergize well with each other. Key cards include "Kruphix, God of Horizons" for mana storage, "Tatyova, Benthic Druid" for card draw and life gain, and "Zendikar's Roil" for landfall triggers. The deck also boasts a variety of utility cards like "Sol Ring" for mana acceleration and "Mystic Confluence" for versatile responses. With a balance of 20 Forests and 15 Islands, the deck ensures consistent mana sources. Additionally, cards like "Evolving Wilds" and "Hinterland Harbor" provide flexibility in mana fixing. The deck also includes thematic cards from the Middle-Earth universe, such as "Galadriel of Lothlorien" and "Fangorn, Tree Shepherd," adding a unique flavor to the deck's identity.

The Maybe Board comprises 22 cards that are potential candidates for integration into the Main Deck. These cards span a range of functionalities, from card draw capabilities with "Braingeyser" and "Courier's Capsule" to creature mimicry with "Vesuvan Doppelganger." "Nevinyrral's Disk" offers a sweeping board reset, while "Merfolk Looter" provides card filtering. The inclusion of "Illusionary Terrain" can disrupt an opponent's mana base, and "Teferi's Response" stands as a tactical counter to threats targeting lands. Cards such as "Fungusaur" and "Raven Guild Master" bring unique creature interactions, and the presence of "Regrowth" ensures retrieval of key cards from the graveyard. This assortment acts as a toolkit, allowing for adjustments to the Main Deck in response to evolving strategies or specific gameplay situations.
