Body of Knowledge

Creature — Avatar

Body of Knowledge's power and toughness are each equal to the number of cards in your hand.

You have no maximum hand size.

Whenever Body of Knowledge is dealt damage, draw that many cards.

Decanter of Endless Water potential mana rock upgrade

Triskaidekaphile potential win con.

Body of Knowledge on theme beater.

Venser's Journal this is probably win more but life gain in mono blue is neat.

As long as you start with more than one card in your hand (otherwise the first time Body of Knowledge is pinged, it will die before the card is drawn) and you do not play too many cards that turn (lest Body of Knowledge's toughness becomes equal to or less than the damage marked against it), it will work. From a practical standpoint, you'll need to track the damage in case it becomes relevant.

If Niv-Mizzet, Parun pings Body of Knowledge for 1 damage, you may draw a card which in activates Niv-Mizzet's ability again, allowing you to draw cards as many times as you ping Body of Knowledge for damage. However, Body of Knowledges' toughness depends on the number of cards in your hand. So the question is: When Body of Knowledges' toughness increases by 1 from taking damage from Niv-Mizzet and drawing a card, does this also increase the amount of damage needed to destroy it by 1? In other words, can this combo be used to draw as many cards cards as I want?

You can use double brackets like this:

[[Niv-Mizzet, Parun]]

To link to cards so everyone knows what you're talking about. For example: Niv-Mizzet, Parun, Body of Knowledge.

This deck is really well built good job

You have several small fry that is good early in the game (ie. Simian spirt guide, Spellseeker , Trinket Mage ) but later in the game might not be so good. Have you considered adding Mystic Reflection so later in the game you can have several Consecrated Sphinx and Jace's Archivist . That would be great because your tokens would also enter as copies of those creatures

With all of the small tokens you're creating maybe add Impact Tremors and/or Purphoros, God of the Forge

Also if you for a wheel sub-theme you may want to add cards such as Wheel of Misfortune , Magus of the Wheel , Tolarian Winds , and Forgotten Creation .

For card draw Rhystic Study , Bident of Thassa , and Curiosity Crafter

with all of this card draw maybe Thought Vessel , Reliquary Tower , Spellbook , and Venser's Journal

Annnnnndddd some more great cards are Chasm Skulker , Body of Knowledge , Enter the infinte, The Magic Mirror and Finale of Revelation

BTW thanks for the upvote

cvarena21989 - thanks. Need to update list, but I did add curiosity. First week was fun. Killed 2 guys in same round, and killed the last guy the next turn. If found a response by using mana to draw cards, but it was too high cmc (Mana value) to cast, so I removed his blockers and killed him with Body of Knowledge and Psychosis Crawler with 20 cards in hand.

cards like Tishana, Voice of Thunder or Body of Knowledge can help give no hand limit and take advantage of the huge hand.

Kudos for taking on the challenge of attempting to make use of the horribly awful Arcane cards from Kamigawa. In addition to using Arcane cards, you might get some benefit from using spirits that work with Arcane cards:

https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?name=+[%22spirit%20or%20arcane%22]||text=+[%22spirit%20or%20arcane%22]

In that list, Earthshaker stands out as being really useful, since it won't nuke your spirits from Kykar. Tallowisp is also pretty cool, since it lets you search for auras.

What I've found works really well with Kykar is Swans of Bryn Argoll and Body of Knowledge , because having access to red gives you lots of ways to deal direct damage to them.

I'm not sure why Zirda is there. What is the activated ability you are trying to take advantage of? Splice into Arcane is not an activated ability, so it won't help with that.

I have a few cards in my deck Kykar Swiss Army Knife (Budget) that might help with Kykar and spirits, because there is a subtle spirit theme here. Check out the deck list and maybeboard for ideas.
