Cumly Cube
Introducing Cumly Cube 1.4.1! 4 months ago, Cumly Cube 1.4 was released. This was the final major update. As promised, minor tweaks would continue, both to fix any remaining imbalances and keep the card pool fresh. The following 19 swaps should help remove some dominant strategies, specifically by curtailing the power of the “green slop” archetype. The additions also add a lot of new excitement to the cube in only 19 cards; there are multiple cards that introduce the monarch into the game, making this a more central mechanic of Cumly Cube, and there is one card that can be used as a niche combo finish with a Cumly Cube staple.
Here are the changes, provided with brief justifications:
REMOVED:
- Artifact Mutation: too powerful
- Aura Mutation: too powerful
- Captain Sisay: too powerful
- Chromatic Lantern: mana fixing should not be this easy
- Druid of the Anima: too obvious a choice of Cumly
- Endbringer: too powerful in multiplayer
- Explosive Vegetation: mana fixing should not be this easy
- Firemind Vessel: mana fixing should not be this easy
- Gilded Goose: too obvious a choice of Cumly
- Gilded Lotus
: too much ramp
- Glissa Sunseeker: too hateful against artifact decks
- Growth Spasm: too much ramp
- Growth Spiral: too much ramp
- Jetmir, Nexus of Revels: too obvious a choice of Cumly
- Joiner Adept: too obvious a choice of Cumly
- Karakas: too powerful
- Library of Alexandria: too powerful
- Muldrotha, the Gravetide: too powerful
- Worldfire: an iconic Cumly Cube card, but sadly too unbalanced due to the ability to float mana and cast your Cumly after, almost certainly winning the game. This strategy still exists with Apocalypse, but is less of a guarantee now
ADDED:
- Afterlife Insurance: supports the Spirit creature type and instant synergies
- Arcane Encyclopedia: supports artifact decks
- Court of Ardenvale: the monarch is now supported more heavily in Cumly Cube
- Eldrazi Confluence: supports Eldrazi decks
- Fiend Hunter: supports the Human creature type
- Horizon of Progress: a utility land to help with mana fixing
- Moira, Urborg Haunt: supports the Spirit creature type and graveyard synergies
- Palace Sentinels: the monarch is now supported more heavily in Cumly Cube, and supports the Human creature type
- Papalymo Totolymo: supports the Dwarf creature type and noncreature synergies
- Refocus: supports instant synergies
- Rile: supports instant synergies and works well with Dinosaurs
- Sage of Hours: supports the Human creature type and +1/+1 counter decks
- Secluded Courtyard: encourages creature synergies
- Sigarda, Champion of Light: supports the Angel creature type and the Human creature type
- Staunch Throneguard: the monarch is now supported more heavily in Cumly Cube, and supports the Construct creature type
- Thassa's Ire: supports enchantment decks and can do some very powerful things with certain creatures
- The Golden Throne: supports sacrifice decks and facilitates possible great comebacks
- Three Tree City: encourages creature synergies
- Wizard's Rockets: a utility artifact to help with mana fixing

Looks fun. Crazy to see a deck with a $2-4k+ price tag also include 25x Tempest Hawk! Haha
Wondering about Jetmir, Nexus of Revels as a wincon with a high creature count

Zinnia is busted and very fun.
Zinnia, a Hare Parent Apparently [Primer] if you're looking for any inspiration.
I assume Jetmir, Nexus of Revels would be fun too.

here's a better way to do it
opening hand Sacred Foundry
+ Sol Ring+ Temple Garden
+ Stomping Ground
+ Plains + 2 Hare Apparent
Turn 1: Sacred Foundry
+ Sol Ring draw for turn 1:Hare Apparent
Turn 2: Temple Garden
+ 2 Hare Apparent draw for turn 2:Hare Apparent
turn 3: Stomping Ground
+ 2 Hare Apparent draw for turn 3 Hare Apparent
turn 4: Plains + Jetmir, Nexus of Revels swing for 88
Math-> 4 5/2 Hare Apparent with double strike so 40 dam
+ 6 4/1 Rabbit 1/1 W with double strike so 48 dam

Rin and Seri

Very nice build! I am looking around to see some Rin and Seri decks in preparation to make my own. I like a lot of the cards you put in here.
Two recommendations I have, are 1. I would cut back on some of the utility lands and just stick with some basics or fetches. Sometimes simple is more reliable and less clunky. 2. For only $7-8, I would recommend adding Jetmir, Nexus of Revels as a game-finisher.
Thanks for sharing your deck!

I'm curious--where were you in this dream? I can imagine the art for this card very clearly--nice description!
That "at random" abilities would be a headache for the deck that pumps out fat piles of tokens. The big problem I have with large numbers of tokens and random effects is that it can take a long time to resolve, and there's no shortcut aside from "this is what will probably happen." If Jetmir, Nexus of Revels has thirty tokens and three opponents, that declare attackers step is going to take a while. (Same deal with cards like Grip of Chaos and Last One Standing. It won't happen all the time, or even often, but it will happen occasionally, and it's completely out of your control.)
I think the second ability can be just "Whenever Banemaker becomes unattached," since that will cover all possible "equipped creature leaves the battlefield" scenarios.
With all that said, this is a great design that captures the feel of chaotic bloodlust.

One of the newer token producers that I can think of is Charismatic Conqueror, but that's not necessarily guaranteed token production. It might be worth looking at more spell-slinger focused Extus, Oriq Overlord Flip or Jetmir, Nexus of Revels decks, since some of the builds I've seen irl tend to use spell-slinging based token production to support the token production on creatures that are mostly in the 3+ cmc range.
- Secure the Wastes, but even then it needs at least 2-3 in the X to feel worth it.
Yeah, Sov Okinec is a little confusing at first. You are correct in your 2nd comment. Let's say Sov Okinec attacks, and you have a Walking Ballista with 2 +1/+1 counters already on it. Sov Okinec would give Ballista another 2 +1/+1 counters, since Ballista's base power is 0. It will continue to balloon from there.
I currently run Sov Okinec and Kutzil in my Gylwain, Casting Director deck, since all role auras provide a baseline +1/+1 buff

I have replaced Eldrazi Monument with Jetmir, Nexus of Revels, which decreased this deck's average converted mana cost from 4.11 to 4.10, which is very good, because I feel that this deck dos not have a sufficient amount of token generation or creature recursion to constantly feed into the monument.
