Game Day

gemste, 12 years ago

I dismantled this deck to combine with my buddy Vortek's jund deck. But I lost to a Geist of Saint Traft and Spectral Flight badly. Blasphemous Act was the only card that saved me. I'm side boarding Vampire Nighthawks just for the geist.

Changes

DeletedNow4ever, 12 years ago

Made some major changes, trying to deal with the meta that has slowly put itself together over the last few weeks.

added Steam Ventsfoil and Sulfur Falls to allow me to use Pursuit of Flight. Lowered the amount of creatures a bit and added some more burn.

Updates!

Trench Wurm out for Obsidian Fireheart - it annoys them more and targets any land. This allowed me to take
Spellshock out =( for Goblin Assault, I want more tokens now that
Sword of Kaldra is in - took out Bonehoard

Magma Phoenix out for Lord of Shatterskull Pass. I know he's like 16 mana to get up to lvl, but when he does he's a beast - especially with Sword or Spike equipped. I want to playtest him, and Magma Phoenix did little except blow up my board and waste my mana.
Stoneshaker Shaman out for Inferno Titan, with the new Sword in there Titan is sweet for exiling. Still siding in Stoneshaker Shaman against control matches

Also, Spectral Searchlight out for Rakdos Signet in, cheaper mana is better in this deck and I'm not playing such a political game that the Searchlight makes the cut. It'll go in my Gwafa deck or smth.

Thoughts always welcome!

found out the deck was not able to stop other people enough, added a couple ways to wrath and such. after all, I tend to only have one or two creatures out at a time, so why should I care if I lose them when others lose more? removed skithiryx, flameblast, heat shimmer, rend flesh, might of the nephilim, and hide//seek in favor of charmbreaker devils, heretic's punishment, devastation tide, shapesharer, mercurial chemister (cause he's awesome), and flowstone slide. If the deck still needs help I can probably find room for some counterspells, suggestions appreciated for suggesting what can be removed for some.

2-2-0

kriskurse, 12 years ago

Went 2-2 again. Found out my deck can't really handle regen all that well. Any suggestions for siding to help?

MTGPRO, 12 years ago

I think i have the cards i want in there, but now i need to narrow down the cards to 60...I need help figuring out a good land base.

Hypersonic Dragon feature for R/U/G Dragons

Tweaked it a bit.

Tweaked it a bit.
STD 2 / 2
Predator Ooze feature for G/B Wut

hainspuerterican, 12 years ago

Took out Vraska the Unseen and put it in my sideboard for Olivia Voldaren. For 4 mana it's a really great card, get some small spot removal plus the ability to deal with bigger creatures while making mine big in the process.

Blue powerhouses

Raligon, 12 years ago

I have come into possession of Jace and Snapcaster Mage. They're added to the deck. I'd really love any advice on how to make them work better in this deck, without blowing up the deck.

2.0 - With pink...

axefaktor, 12 years ago

Removing Sylvan Scrying and replacing it with Jarad's Orders. It's better tutor for my deck, which doesn't really have any "gotta have it" lands, because it stocks my hand and graveyard.

Removing Darksteel Ingot for Deathrite Shaman. I realize this is an odd switch, and we'll see how it plays out. I feel pretty secure about my land count lately, and the recent addition of Chromatic Lantern has made the necessity of a card like this even lower. Deathrite Shaman is really filler, but it's valuable enough to make sense. With all the mill my deck has, Deathrite Shaman is like a fregan in the alley at closing time. He makes up for the loss of Darksteel Ingot by offering his own brand of mana generation, and with all the tutor lands in EDH, even if I'm not milling, he's still gonna have some fodder. And his black ability takes care of pesky flashback cards.

Reworking in progress

Zesty, 12 years ago

been paying attention to the past couple of SCG Open's and I decided to rework my naya humans deck from pre RTR and just make it into a G/W one. Will add descriptions and whatnot once i am satisfied with the list and whenever i get around to it :).

Added more land

AjMcGamer, 12 years ago

As much as I liked the idea of the Undead Alchemist I decided to sideboard it to make room for more land. Still thinking of splashing in some black or green to boost my creature base. I also think I may swap out the Chronic Flooding for some dispels. Thoughts?

DaBears, 12 years ago

a few minor tweeks and now i have 3 viable win conditions. eldrazi, Blue Sun's Zenith and Banefire are my win options. due to the amount of mana ramp i can produce i can either mill out an opponent, or just directly eliminate them via Banefire's direct damage.

More Modifications

AirlockFart, 12 years ago

Took out a couple of things for Soul Tithe, thanks for the idea meecht.

Abundance

ChiefWannaHacka, 12 years ago

Found out a neat/powerful combo:

Abundance + Sylvan Library = Choose 3 land/non-land cards and keep all 3.

Abundance + Rites of Flourishing = Choose 2 lands and drop both each turn. SUPER RAMP!

Thought I should let y'all know!

S4TCH, 12 years ago

Took out Trostani, Selesnya's Voice and Call of the Conclave to make space for Fencing Ace and Abundant Growth. Now its possible to kill by turn 3 (Fencing Ace + Ethereal Armor + Rancor

KnightsBattlecry001, 12 years ago

Got ahold of another Clifftop Retreat. Will help more with the mana fixing for the deck. Also got another Fencing Ace and got a Captain of the Watch as well.

Chorster, 12 years ago

-1 Ajani Sunstriker, -1 Elspeth, Knight Errant, -3 Ajani Mantle, -1 Ring of thune, +2 Pristine Talisman, +1 Serra Ascendant, +3 Rhox Faithmender.

blixna_waka, 12 years ago

Having troubles with decks that dominate turn 1 through 3 where I can't afford to have shocklands come down untapped because of the loss of life. Is it better to maindeck the 3 Fiend Hunter to deal with things like Rakdos Cackler and chump block Gravecrawlers in the meantime? what do?

Hard choices

Worldeater, 12 years ago

I really want this deck to be all out aggro. From that point of view Predator Ooze and Restoration Angel are the cards that don't belong. Predator Ooze is a powerhouse with Rancor or Revenge of the Hunted but this may not be the best fit for the deck. Restoration Angel is great with Thragtusk but it's the only ETB affect I have now. I may try testing the deck without those two and adding Silverblade Paladin and Deadbridge Goliath.

Deadly Allure

predian, 12 years ago

As much as I love this card in most match ups I feel 3 was 1 too many so I have opted in taking 1 out and replacing it with another Rancor.

In playtesting it seems to of speeded the deck up slightly but I'm worried about getting my creatures through now as I was mainly using the Deadly Allure on my Gravecrawlers, Geralf's Messengers and lotleth trolls.

Bump in the night

predian, 12 years ago

Thinking of adding in 3x Bump in the Night into the sideboard.

I'm liking the idea of going turn 1 Deathrite Shaman, turn 2 Bump in the Night exile the Bump in the Night with Deathrite Shaman for a total of 5 damage.

Also gives this deck abit of reach instead of just creature face bash for win cons with Killing Wave / Blood Artist backup.

Playtested

Trisky, 12 years ago

After running this deck in a free tournament (and winning 8th place even after missing the first round) my opponents and I found a few weaknesses. I hope with some of the changes I have made here will enable the deck to play more effectively consistently against my opponents.

Flames Grew Higher

Zomgasa, 12 years ago

Being wrecked by zombies is no good and thus Pillar of Flame was added mainboard.

hjwing, 12 years ago

Added 3 Immerwolf, removed Wolfir Silverheart and 2x Instigator Gang  Flip's. Lowers the mana curve and keeps the wolves from flipping....should've put them in from the start.
