so i fixed it

changed the deck around a bit seems a little more constant now but it still needs a little sometin extra
Went less budget!
Vindemiatrixx, 11 years ago
Okay so after playing with budget I decided to add in some cards such as Voice of Resurgence and Scavenging Ooze. They seem to work very well. Hopefully ill like the changes in the long run, removed 2x Archangel of Thune as well as 2x Wayfaring Temple to make the swap. The sad part is the deck did double in price almost just from 4 cards, not too happy about that. Lemme know what you guys think! As always, thanks for checking the deck out and feel free to leave a comment!

After realizing that Elvish Spirit Guide is an uncommon, it's been replaced with Crimson Wisps.
Pre-Pack 2 Review and Odds
KrazyCaley, 11 years ago
First, our CURRENT ODDS. --- Wodar: 1x Gray Merchant of Asphodel 1x Psychic Intrusion 1x Sip of Hemlock 1x Akroan Horse 1x Artisan of Forms 1x Blood-Toll Harpy 1x Demolish 1x Feral Invocation 1x Loathsome Catoblepas 1x Mnemonic Wall 1x Mountain 1x Opaline Unicorn 1x Sedge Scorpion 1x Shipwreck Singer 1x Time to Feed A serviceable group of BUG cards; albeit with no really convincing bombs, and more importantly, no fixing other than the dubious unicorn. Akroan Horse is currently the deck's most dangerous threat; this will have to be remedied. Odds: 6:1 against (was 8:1 against pre-pack 1) --- Deckbuilder345 1x Borderland Minotaur 1x Lagonna-Band Elder 1x Silent Artisan 1x Wild Celebrants 1x Wingsteed Rider 1x Yoked Ox 1x Fleetfeather Sandals 1x Prowler's Helm 1x Battlewise Valor 1x Coastline Chimera 1x Erebos's Emissary 1x Mountain 1x Ordeal of Thassa 1x Prognostic Sphinx 1x Voyaging Satyr This WUBRG set of cards is totally uncoordinated. Apparently the plan here is tentatively to go white/red, but their white/red is awful! Their best cards are Prognostic Sphinx and Erebos's Emissary. There's a lot of ground to make up here. Odds: 10:1 against (was 7:1 against pre-pack 1) --- GureiSeion 1x Abhorrent Overlord 1x Messenger's Speed 1x Nessian Asp 1x Nylea's Disciple 1x Ordeal of Purphoros 1x Peak Eruption 1x Pharika's Mender 1x Prescient Chimera 1x Satyr Hedonist 1x Shredding Winds 1x Spearpoint Oread 1x Staunch-Hearted Warrior 1x Titan's Strength 1x Two-Headed Cerberus This group did not quite find the cards to run Abhorrent Overlord.dek, but they cunningly perceived green to be openish, and took a lot of nice green cards (AND some nice red cards!) They remain in position to use black or blue if they wish/get good cards for them, as well. Odds: 6:1 against (was 6:1 against pre-pack 1) --- Actiontech 1x Nylea's Emissary 1x Temple of Abandon 1x Nessian Asp 1x Commune with the Gods 1x Horizon Chimera 1x Thassa's Bounty 1x Feral Invocation 1x Fleetfeather Sandals 1x Rage of Purphoros 1x Stymied Hopes 1x Benthic Giant 1x Boulderfall 1x Sedge Scorpion 1x Plains 1x Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx This group has a very nice set of blue/green cards. They are also in a position to expand to red, and even have a bit of fixing for it via the Temple. Odds: 9:2 against (was 8:1 against pre-pack 1) --- Goody 1x Cavalry Pegasus 1x Ephara's Warden 1x Flamespeaker Adept 1x Ill-Tempered Cyclops 1x Nimbus Naiad 2x Traveling Philosopher 1x Wingsteed Rider 1x Dauntless Onslaught 1x Gods Willing 1x Last Breath 1x Magma Jet 1x Thassa's Bounty 1x Scourgemark 1x Mountain Now THIS is what a red/white deck is supposed to look like here. Be a shame if they couldn't run that Nimbus Naiad; will they think about blue or black, or keep it to two colors? Odds: 5:1 against (was 8:1 against pre-pack 1) --- Euphonatron 1x Breaching Hippocamp 1x Horizon Chimera 1x Nimbus Naiad 1x Nylea's Disciple 1x Observant Alseid 1x Prescient Chimera 1x Sedge Scorpion 1x Underworld Cerberus 1x Wavecrash Triton 1x Yoked Ox 1x Plains 1x Unknown Shores 1x Fate Foretold 1x Fleshmad Steed Another confusing WUBRG mess; at least they have an Unknown Shores. What colors are they RUNNING, and more importantly, why did we completely ignore the fact that we drafted Underworld Cerberus? Odds: 17:2 against (was 5:1 against pre-pack 1) --- Absinthman 1x Blood-Toll Harpy 1x Borderland Minotaur 2x Felhide Minotaur 1x Heliod's Emissary 1x Leonin Snarecaster 1x Spellheart Chimera 1x Stoneshock Giant 1x Dauntless Onslaught 1x Ray of Dissolution 1x Triton Tactics 1x Portent of Betrayal 1x Sea God's Revenge 1x Fate Foretold This deck wanted to be in R/W/U but ended up hate drafting a lot of black. They could go in a few directions, but their main problem is that there aren't any really compellingly good cards, just a bunch of decent ones. Still, decent base to build on. Odds: 7:1 against (was 8:1 against pre-pack 1) --- Deco_y 1x Agent of the Fates 1x Asphodel Wanderer 1x Boon of Erebos 1x Crackling Triton 1x Cutthroat Maneuver 1x Leafcrown Dryad 1x Mogis's Marauder 1x Ordeal of Heliod 1x Plains 2x Scholar of Athreos 2x Sentry of the Underworld 1x Silent Artisan 1x Viper's Kiss This group did the best job of focusing; 2x Sentry is nice! Agent of the Fates CAN take over games, but they don't look like they want to build that deck. The right rares, or decent removal, could make this deck very dangerous. Odds: 5:1 against (was 7:1 against pre-pack 1) --- Current Projected Finish: 1 - Actiontech 2 - (Tie) Goody and Deco_y 4 - (Tie) Wodar and GureiSeion 6 - Absinthman 7 - Euphonatron 8 - Deckbuilder345

Post-Pack 1
KrazyCaley, 11 years ago
1 - Wodar Psychic Intrusion - Pick 9 by Wodar Erebos's Emissary - Pick 2 by Deckbuilder345 Peak Eruption - Pick 11 by GureiSeion Prowler's Helm - Pick 10 by Deckbuilder345 Boon of Erebos - Pick 8 by Deco_y Fate Foretold - Pick 14 by Euphonatron Feral Invocation - Pick 4 by Actiontech Fleetfeather Sandals - Pick 12 by Actiontech Gods Willing - Pick 5 by Goody Gray Merchant of Asphodel - Pick 1 by Wodar Leonin Snarecaster - Pick 7 by Absinthman Prescient Chimera - Pick 3 by GureiSeion Sedge Scorpion - Pick 6 by Euphonatron Thassa's Bounty - Pick 13 by Goody Mountain - Pick 15 by Absinthman Goody is probably the biggest winner during garbage time, but Thassa's Bounty is not necessarily a card you run. 2 - Deckbuilder345 Prognostic Sphinx - Pick 1 by Deckbuilder345 Horizon Chimera - Pick 3 by Actiontech Mogis's Marauders - Pick 4 by Deco_y Pharika's Mender - Pick 2 by GureiSeion Ephara's Warden - Pick 12 by Goody Fate Foretold - Pick 14 by Absinthman Feral Invocation - Pick 8 by Wodar Fleshmad Steed - Pick 13 by Euphonatron Lagonna-Band Elder - Pick 9 by Deckbuilder345 Nimbus Naiad - Pick 4 by Goody Nylea's Disciple - Pick 10 by GureiSeion Ray of Dissolution - Pick 6 by Absinthman Thassa's Bounty - Pick 11 by Actiontech Wavecrash Trtion - Pick 5 by Euphonatron Plains - Pick 15 by Deco_y Again, Goody picks up a marginally good card late. 3 - GureiSeion Abhorrent Overlord - Pick 1 by Abhorrent Overlord Heliod's Emissary - Pick 5 by Absinthman Magma Jet - Pick 3 by Goody Sentry of the Underworld - Pick 6 by Deco_y Battlewise Valor - Pick 8 by Deckbuilder345 Commune with the Gods - Pick 10 by Actiontech Crackling Triton - Pick 14 by Deco_y Last Breath - Pick 11 by Goody Nessian Asp - Pick 2 by Actiontech Nimbus Naiad - Pick 4 by Euphonatron Opaline Unicorn - Pick 7 by Wodar Portent of Betrayal - Pick 13 by Absinthman Staunch-Hearted Warrior - Pick 9 by GureiSeion Unknown Shores - Pick 12 by Euphonatron Mountain - Pick 15 by Wodar I like the Unknown Shores pick a lot; there was virtually no fixing in this pack, and taking what little there is should be a priority. 4 - Actiontech Temple of Abandon - Pick 9 by Actiontech Dauntless Onslaught - Pick 2 by Goody Stoneshock Giant - Pick 4 by Absinthman Nylea's Emissary - Pick 1 by Actiontech Blood-Toll Harpy - Pick 12 by Absinthman Borderland Minotaur - Pick 7 by Deckbuilder345 Demolish - Pick 14 by Wodar Leafcrown Dryad - Pick 5 by Deco_y Prescient Chimera - Pick 3 by Euphonatron Sedge Scorpion - PIck 6 by Wodar Silent Artisan - Pick 13 by Deco_y Titan's Strength - Pick 8 by GureiSeion Traveling Philosopher - Pick 10 by Goody Yoked Ox - Pick 11 by Euphonatron Mountain - Pick 15 by Deckbuilder345 Nothing particularly notable to comment on here. 5 - Goody Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx - Pick 8 by Actiontech Dauntless Onslaught - Pick 3 by Absinthman Flamespeaker Adept - Pick 9 by Goody Horizon Chimera - Pick 2 by Euphonatron Asphodel Wanderer - Pick 12 by Deco_y Fellhide Minotaur - Pick 11 by Absinthman Fleetfeather Sandals - Pick 6 by Deckbuilder345 Loathsome Catoblepas - Pick 13 by Wodar Nylea's Disciple - Pick 10 by Euphonatron Scholar of Athreos - Pick 4 by Deco_y Time to Feed - Pick 5 by Wodar Two-Headed Cerberus - Pick 7 by GureiSeion Wild Celebrants - Pick 14 by Deckbuilder345 Wingsteed Rider - Pick 1 by Goody Swamp - Pick 15 by GureiSeion Asphodel Wanderer is the only notable card taken late. 6 - Euphonatron Underworld Cerebus - Pick 1 by Euphonatron Akroan Horse - Pick 4 by Wodar Cutthroat Maneuver - Pick 11 by Deco_y Sea God's Revenge - Pick 2 by Absinthman Sentry of the Underworld - Pick 3 by Deco_y Breaching Hippocamp - Pick 9 by Euphonatron Cavalry Pegasus - Pick 8 by Goody Fellhide Minotaur - Pick 10 by Absinthman Messenger's Speed - Pick 14 by GureiSeion Mnemonic Wall - Pick 12 by Wodar Sedge Scorpion - Pick 7 by Actiontech Silent Artisan - Pick 13 by Deckbuilder345 Spearpoint Oread - Pick 6 by GureiSeion Wingsteed Rider - Pick 5 by Deckbuilder345 Plains - Pick 15 by Actiontech Not sure I agree with Wodar that Mnemonic Wall is more draftable than hating on Silent Artisan, but it's probably a moot point. 7 - Absinthman Artisan of Forms - Pick 3 by Wodar Ordeal of Heliod - Pick 2 by Deco_y Spellheart Chimera - Pick 9 by Absinthman Triton Tactics - Pick 1 by Absinthman Battlewise Valor - Pick 8 by Euphonatron Benthic Giant - Pick 6 by Actiontech Blood-Toll Harpy - Pick 11 by Wodar Boulderfall - Pick 14 by Actiontech Nessian Asp - Pick 5 by GureiSeion Shredding Winds - Pick 13 by GureiSeion Travelling Philosopher - Pick 7 by Goody Viper's Kiss - Pick 10 by Deco_y Voyaging Satyr - Pick 4 by Deckbuilder345 Yoked Ox - Pick 12 by Deckbuilder345 Mountain - PIck 15 by Goody Picking up Shredding Winds this late is a great coup for Gurei's group. That card is VERY playable. 8 - Deco_y Agent of the Fates - Pick 1 by Deco_y Ordeal of Purphoros - Pick 4 by GureiSeion Ordeal of Thassa - Pick 3 by Deckbuilder345 Shipwreck Singer - Pick 10 by Wodar Borderland Minotaur - Pick 8 by Absinthman Coastline Chimera - Pick 11 by Deckbuilder345 Ill-Tempered Cyclops - Pick 6 by Goody Observant Alseid - Pick 7 by Euphonatron Rage of Purphoros - Pick 5 by Actiontech Satyr Hedonist - Pick 12 by GureiSeion Scholar of Athreos - Pick 9 by Deco_y Scourgemark - Pick 14 by Goody Sip of Hemlock - Pick 2 by Wodar Stymied Hopes - Pick 13 by Actiontech Plains - PIck 15 by Euphonatron Gurei again profits the most late; Satyr Hedonist is a card that might actually help his group.
Harpy the Master!
Mrd671, 11 years ago
2-0 for Harpy devotion! Did well against Master of the Waves and Thassa, God of the Sea.
Game 1: I used Thoughtseize in my opening hand to remove Dissolve and used my removal package to cripple my opponents synergy. Liliana of the Dark Realms helped me out has a good distraction, played her to draw out the counters. Then I played Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Erebos, God of the Dead FTW
Game 2: Sideboarded Underworld Connections to play Duress. Had Desecration Demon come out to play. Early turns used Mutavault to get an early advantage but did not rely on it too much... 2nd Demon can to play. I only attacked with one because of my spidy senses were going off.
Could have ended the game but only attacked with one demon. Lucky I did because my opponent had a Aetherize! Before that point I controlled Thassa, God of the Sea down to here Scry ability because all of the creatures I've destroyed. From there he just conceded.
Lesson learned: You can jump the gun and play everything in your hand. Timing is everything. Trust your senses, if it seems too good to be true, it's a trap!

changes come of the lands enchantments and creatures let me know what you think
RaVaGeR_Z, 11 years ago
Edited a few cards around, added others.
I really like the Mindcrank + Duskmantle Guildmage loop, but i have no clue where to get more guildmages/any mindcrank, since only 2 or 3 of my friends play magic, and none of them like milling.
I was also thinking of Reassembling Skeleton, or similar cheap cards with a dredge mechanic, but then the Sage's Row Denizens won't be of much use.
@maxon: I have an idea for a cipher deck too, but it doesn't fit in here, so I'll make a new decklist after the next month started :P

Savageborn

I added 2x Savageborn Hydraand moved my 2x Mistcutter Hydra to my sideboard.

Decided to make discarding with Whispering Madness a one turn win con. Hopefully it works.

Mainboard update #2
MasterWithAPlan, 11 years ago
Took out Xenagos and the Madcap Skills, and made all the creatures 4 of's. I know it's only 20 land, but there are 8 ramp cards, and the deck curves out at 4 mana so it should still be enough. Been playtesting, and this deck hits HARD. Only question now is how to sideboard for control/bounce/boardwipe.
Redux..
Metroid_Hybrid, 11 years ago
I've changed the deck's focus around by turning it into more of a traditional Mono-Black Control deck with lots of hand disruption, rather than the more passive 'mana poisoning' that this deck was originally based on..
LiQuiDSiN, 11 years ago
SO, I decided to go with 2x voice Mainboard. I've found that more often than not I choose to play Caryatid on T2 than my Voice unless specifically playing against Control decks that didn't run Anger of the Gods.
With that being said, I've also decided to move 1x of my Abrupt Decays to my sideboard, dropping the mainboard number down to 2 as well. The issue with AD is that is doesn't hit Mutavault, which is seeing a TONNE of play in standard right now.
I've chosen to fill the 2 slots that those have left empty with Desecration Demon. D-Demon is a house. If it stays on the field for more than a turn it usually means game. Otherwise, its a good target for whipping back an extra 6 points of damage.

Changes based on comments

Look at comment section for the cards.
Per feedback
GAAPBatman, 11 years ago
-1 Underworld Connections; -3 High Priest of Penance +1 Duress; +3 Sin Collector
Per comment, I made a couple of changes. The suggestion was actually to drop an Underworld Connections AND a Whip. I didn't pull the trigger on the Whip just yet, but we'll see how it goes.

Final Version
vicentil, 11 years ago
This is the final version of this deck. I may eventually trade Judge's familiar for something else, but for now, I've been playing this version since August, and it does well enough. Thanks for the suggestions everyone.Lands
Littlepeep, 11 years ago
I think i might actually have TOO many land getting cards, what would you guys think?
Starting to foil out
sjbennett85, 11 years ago
Many updates have happened but this is the first time I've used this feature.
I'm very happy with the current list but I may adjust the line up, here and there, for neat little variances.
Most recent updates was OUT Rhystic Study IN Mystic Remora

Winning record
metagrobolized, 11 years ago
I've lost two out of five games I've played with this deck. I'm changing it substantially now that I've decided to play it only in Cockatrice in lieu of actually buying the whole deck - this enables me to put some really ridiculous cards in. Should be pretty nasty.
Manaki91, 11 years ago
Not near done with the cards, but here is a rough draft. Let me know what you think!
