Wayfaring Temple Discussion

Proxy! Though I suppose if you're against it I wouldn't reccomend taking out any token doubler - it's the bread and butter for this commander. Wayfaring Temple is what I'd take out, even if its thematic the Druid allows you to power out stronger plays.

Nightmare Shepherd is one of the best as it adds a lot of functionality with no upfront cost and allows you to exploit sacrifice mechanics like evoke. Creating token clones with etb/ltb can easily become overpowered, especially when combined with populate. In fact I built a great ETB Roon EDH deck around it using cards like Yosei, the Morning Star, Protean Hulk and Wayfaring Temples that clone themselves. Token clone generation is amazing because it's essentially ETB blinking as a side effect. You have some cards that do it already listed under abuse but I think the mechanic is good enough and has enough viable cards that it might be worth making a new category for it.
Token clone makers

Also some other blink type cards:
Blink-Yorion, Sky Nomad Conditional bounce- Cunning Evasion ETB clone- Wall of Stolen Identity Graveyard blink- Cauldron of Souls, Twilight Shepherd, Adarkar Valkyrie ETB Abuse- Jalira, Master Polymorphist, Proteus Staff, Master Transmuter. Listing the ones that specifically clone or blink artifacts in their own group might be helpful too.

Ya the deck is structured a little wierd right now as I wanted to run cards like Oviya Pashiri, Sage Lifecrafter, Spawnwrith, some of the other token cards, and yes Wayfaring Temple lol, cause I like them and they weren't seeing play, but yeah even with some of the less competitive ones in there I can ramp so fast with Rhys's ability to make elves while I'm playing elves from my hand as well I can often play cards like giant adephage turn 4 or the brood master, that early in the game either they have a board wipe or you win, cause by that time you'll probly have an untap as well and be able to do many awful things, I cant remember the exact sequence but I've swung for some 200+ dmg turn 6, if unchecked this deck is crazy strong, however all of that is great on paper, when you roll up in real life and drop a turn 1 commander and proceed to ramp out of control, you get hated out of games quickly, I often have players team up to stop this decks strong early game, thank you for all the kind words as well I'd love to get in a match against yur izoni :)

Very cool deck! Awesome synergy though I have found from my past experience that Wayfaring Temple is not worth it unless you can always give it trample. I suppose you can do that. That said I think Rancor would make a great card. Even on just your commander Rhys the Redeemed that card would give you a turn two 3 power trampler. Not bad. Plus it is great with Wayfaring Temple. My deck as you saw is a token one too, but I mostly use them for sacrifices! I would love to see my Izoni, Thousand-Eyed go against this dope looking deck. Turn 6 consistent win you say?

Hey! Thanks for the comment, I run The Great Henge in my volrath deck and only reason I don’t have it in this is price tag hahah, these two decks I have in cards. It’s certainly one id like 2 copies of. Wayfaring Temple was in for a while but it felt slowish, I danced around with Voice of Resurgence but both fell a little flat for me

What about Nacatl War-Pride or Wayfaring Temple as possible creature includes? I would also consider including The Great Henge, I know you are token focused but a lifegain mana battery in green that can also draw cards is pretty nice.

Here’s a small list of cards that are a must for this deck I’m surprised I don’t see:
- Vitu-Ghazi Guildmage would be a must
- Wayfaring Temple
- Oviya Pashiri, Sage Lifecrafter
- Selesnya Eulogist
- Advent of the Wurm
- Sundering Growth
- Hour of Reckoning
- Phyrexian Rebirth
- Song of the Worldsoul : I stress this card more than any of the others
The two I commented on are musts in in any Trostani deck in my opinion. The others would be strong additions.
