1 - Wodar Reaper of the Wilds - Pick 1 by Wodar Artisan's Sorrow Destructive Revelry Flamespeaker Adept - Pick 3 by Absinthman Asphodel Wanderer Breaching Hippocamp Gods Willing - Pick 2 by Deco_y Leafcrown Dryad - Pick 4 by Euphonatron Nessian Courser Ray of Dissolution Silent Artisan Time to Feed Titan's Strength Vaporkin Plains One of the better cards remaining, though not in their recent blue focus. Now held by: Goody - Probably Titan's Strength. 2 - DB345 Bow of Nylea - Pick 2 by Wodar Artisan's Sorrow Fanatic of Mogis - Pick 1 by Deckbuilder345 Karametra Acolyte Vanquish the Foul - Pick 3 by Deco_y Agent of Horizons Battlewise Valor Defend the Hearth Fleetfeather Sandals Guardians of Meletis Ill-Tempered Cyclops - Pick 4 by Absinthman Prescient Chimera Ray of Dissolution Vaporkin Mountain I agree. Now held by: Euphonatron - Prescient Chimera is the strongest card here, assuming their colors to be blue and green, which is a dubious assumption. 3 - Gurei Reaper of the Wilds - Pick 1 by GureiSeion Battlewise Hoplite Evangel of Heliod Sealock Monster Breaching Hippocamp Fellhide Minotaur Fleetfeather Sandals Gray Merchant of Asphodel - Pick 3 by Wodar Ill-Tempered Cyclops Prescient Chimera Scholar of Athreos - Pick 4 by Deco_y Silent Artisan Titan's Strength Traveling Philosopher - Pick 2 by Deckbuilder345 Swamp We will see if Evangel comes back to them. I doubt it. Still, a great pick. Now held by: Absinthman - Sealock is probably best for them, though there are lot of cards that would be good for them. 4 - Actiontech Prognostic Sphinx - Pick 1 by Actiontech Burnished Hart - Pick 2 by GureiSeion Nemesis of Mortals - Pick 4 by Wodar Sealock Monster Demolish Ephara's Warden Fellhide Minotaur Fleshmad Steed Griptide Last Breath Satyr Hedonist Scholar of Athreos Scourgemark Spark Jolt - Pick 3 by Deckbuilder345 Island No complaints from me. Sad to see those other two cards go though. Now held by: Deco_y - Last Breath is nice; either that or another Scholar are the picks. 5 - Goody Master of Waves - Pick 2 by Actiontech Arena Athlete - Pick 4 by Deckbuilder345 Magma Jet - Pick 1 by Goody Warriors' Lesson Cavern Lampad Defend the Hearth Demolish Divine Verdict Guardians of Meletis Leonin Snarecaster Pharika's Cure Prescient Chimera Priest of Iroas Sedge Scorpion - Pick 3 by GureiSeion Plains Yeah, makes sense. Now held by: Wodar - Cure, Lampad, and Chimera are all good. 6 - Euphonatron Abhorrent Overlord - Pick 4 by GureiSeion Dissolve - Pick 1 by Euphonatron Peak Eruption Witches' Eye Agent of Horizons - Pick 3 by Actiontech Akroan Crusader Cavalry Pegasus Crackling Triton Defend the Hearth Messenger's Speed Mnemonic Wall Observant Alseid - Pick 2 by Goody Portent of Betrayal Traveler's Amulet Forest Two Overlords now, and a Gary might soon fall to them. Hm..... Now held by: Deckbuilder345 - They could grab a Crusader. Kinda works with what they have. 7 - Absinthman Hero's Downfall Destructive Revelry Destructive Revelry (foil) Phalanx Leader - Pick 1 by Absinthman Thassa's Emissary - Pick 2 by Euphonatron Baleful Eidolon Battlewise Valor - Pick 3 by Goody Benthic Giant Boulderfall Guardians of Meletis Loathsome Catoblepas March of the Returned Omenspeaker - Pick 4 by Actiontech Savage Surge Plains I agree again. Now held by: GureiSeion - What ARE their colors now? Black/green? Eidolon is a good choice, and Downfall is the best piece of removal in the set. I'd take Downfall. 8 - Deco_y Abhorrent Overlord - Pick 1 by Deco_y Hunt the Hunter Purphoros's Emissary - Pick 2 by Absinthman Satyr Piper Agent of Horizons Akroan Crusader - Pick 4 by Goody Crackling Triton Defend the Hearth Gods Willing Gray Merchant of Asphodel Last Breath Messenger's Speed Prescient Chimera (foil) - Pick 3 by Euphonatron Spark Jolt Mountain I prefer Gods Willing, but Crusader works with their deck also. Now held by: Actiontech - Another Agent of Horizons?

Was having problems at FNM with any kind of aggro or removal so I decided to make some critical changes, runs so smooth now with no gaps in coverage. Testing still inconclusive against control.
mukas999, 11 years ago
Made some edits, and did some testing. I gotta say Im pretty friggin proud of my deck, I won 3 out of four with a seasoned EDH player and a guy with one of the new pre made EDH decks.
First 2-Headed Giant tournament
Skull_Creed, 11 years ago
Random pairings -- including partner for round.
First round I was paired with a Glissa, the Traitor *oversized* deck against Marath, Will of the Wild *f-etch* and Oloro, Ageless Ascetic.
The kid that was running Glissa hardly had any idea what he was doing, so most of the game I did my best to carry, which worked for a little while. The kid played Sylvan Primordial blowing up one of our opponent's only green sources, and I Violent Ultimatum'd to blow up the other one he had, Vizkopa Guildmage, and Oloro, Ageless Ascetic himself. After that, the other two just kept playing threat after threat after threat, and I couldn't find any of my board sweeps. The kid just kept playing mana dorks.
Second round I was paired with Riku of Two Reflections against Glissa, the Traitor *oversized* and Oloro, Ageless Ascetic (there was only five people this time around, which was unusual and the main reason for random pairings). The kid didn't do much but misplay a Sylvan Primordial before his partner could tell him he had a Torpor Orb on board. My partner almost freaked before I pointed that out. We just played threats all day while it was basically two versus one, and my partner combo'd out with Eternal Witness, Time Warp, and Riku of Two Reflections.
Third round was interesting. I was paired with Marath, Will of the Wild *f-etch* against Riku of Two Reflections and Oloro, Ageless Ascetic. It was back and forth until they ran out of answers and I played Doubling Season followed by Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker followed by both ultimatums in deck. We played two more games after that with the same pairings just for fun because we had amazing games each time. Our last game had so many misplays, and because of that, it lasted four hours.
One thing I'd say about the deck is that it needs more card advantage/card draw outside of PWs because they get alpha'd immediately under normal conditions. I ult'd my walkers at most three or four times out of all six games. I'm thinking about adding Tezzeret's Gamble, and I think I'm going to keep Obzedat's Aid (I used it to replace another card, and it allowed for a surprise Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker. But, overall, I was impressed with the deck.
I'd be more specific about certain things, but my head is pounding after that last game, and I'm tired as hell. Thanks for reading and commenting and stuff!

Made a few changes

I tweaked some numbers and took out the Ranger's Guile. I recently finished my playset of Abrupt Decay. Should I put in another Corpsejack Menace? Or maybe another Reaper of the Wilds? Another question I have is should I take out the Lotleth Troll from the sideboard?
Extended removed

...and thus I move on to the new Standard list since as of the 7th Extended is no longer sanctioned. It was a fun run and I've made some people cry over this build.
FNM gets frustrating
princessswigg, 11 years ago
Last night was the second time I took this deck to fnm. Here's the breakdown:
Round 1- played a g/r aggro and burn deck. Won 2-0. The deck worked well and got an army out quickly so my opponent couldn't do much to stop the onslaught.
Round 2- played rakdos deck with those pesky Desecration Demon. He had me quickly game one, but in game two, I kept the demon tapped which usually was his only creature out and swung every turn. I won 2-1.
Round 3- played bwr deck with demons again (man, am I tired of those) and Assemble the Legion. Lost 2-0. It was looking good in game two, but he got the legions out and started populating like crazy. I made a play error by not tapping his demon at my combat phase and swinging for the win.
Round 4- played orzhov deck with obezdat, ghost council, Boros Reckoner, Liliana of the Dark Realms, and rakdos return. He got me with the ghost council first game. During the second game, he Thoughtseized my hand. With five cards in hand, I planned to EoT an Advent of the Wurm and buff him with Unflinching Courage when he radkos-ed me for five cards. I should've cast the wurm but didn't. He won 2-0.
Round 5- played mono-white with shenanigans with Banisher Priest and Chained to the Rocks. Lost 2-0.
I've updated my deck and am hoping it gets a winning record next week because I want to try out something new. As always, tips welcome.

Replaced door of destinies with Ivy lane denizen because it works and its even more stupid.

Play testing allowed me to see that I have to be playing big creatures with huge ETB effects. Everything was dying to kill spells after being cascaded in. I'm loving the Titans at the moment because I get their ETB and then thanks to haste from Entering, they get to attack and their ability triggers again.

Now much more well rounded

The deck was sort of designed to be a control killer, and while it seemed to succeed fairly well at that, it was just totally mauled by aggro. So, I got rid of the Deathrite Shaman all together, removing all green from the deck, which sped it up a bit. I replaced him with Guttersnipe, which more or less does the same thing, and I don't have to pay for it and he's red.
I axed Chandra, Pyromaster, as she just wasn't doing enough heavy lifting against aggro. Great to bring back the Phoenix, but not great enough. Her ultimate was pretty sweet, and worked out well a lot of the time, but that's a long time to wait on the board with not a lot of protection.
I replaced her with Liliana of the Dark Realms. She thins the deck out and gets swamps in play, which I can use with Crypt Ghast and Rakdos's Return to blow people out. And if I hit her ultimate, I can nuke someone for a whole lot. With Rakdos's Return or Cinder Elemental.
Anger of the Gods was added in for some much needed aggro hate.
Explosive Impact is probably going to go away, once I find a hole that needs plugging, those two cards are gone.
Added in some Mutavault, they seem to work well in the deck for sure.
Now I'm thinking about Chandra's Phoenix. I sort of like having the Hero's Downfall mained in for Planeswalkers and big baddies, but now I have nothing left to pull my Phoenix's out of the graveyard.

Yay! However, I didn't play against any control decks, not to mention they usually destroy this deck.

Syncopate will be coming out as soon as i can think of a card taht would fit better. Im thinking Mizzium Mortars if i can get my hands on some.
