Good showing to the new changes. Went undefeated in the 2 of four rounds I played. Showed up late and got a 1st round loss.

===============

2nd round I played against a Jeskai Ascendancy combo deck, very cool. If you haven't seen it, check it out. The synergy was good, the card advantage was insane. It was well built. Glittering wish gives access to a monster wishboard.

Game one went to my opponent. Went first, Castigated an Ascendancy on turn two, but he ripped another on turn 3. I had an option to kill the bird on turn 3 with a pulse but opted for the threat, because I didn't know he could go off with just one bird on turn 3. He proceeded to combo and I watched his deck seamlessly combo into an 11 point Grapeshot and a 11 point attack from the bird.

SB plan was +1 Extirpate +1 Devour Flesh -1 Phyrexian Revoker -1 Batterskull

This paid off well, I ripped 2 Extirpates in the game and hit Manamorphose and Serum Visions in game 2 and kept an Abrupt Decay up the entire game. A Knight of the Reliquary strapped with a Sword of Feast or Famine made short work of him.

Game 3 he had to mulligan to 5, and never got much together. He managed to piece together a defense despite heavy removal in Path to Exile and Maelstrom Pulse, heavy hand hate in Castigate and tidehollow skuller, and consistent beaters in Sword of Light and Shadow + Squadron Hawks. The game went to time, and I finally finished him off on turn 3 of extra turns. Great game. Good player. Amazing deck. I had fun.

3rd round was against a very foily, well polished RUG Twin deck. Game 1 was won by my opponent with a overwhelming show of force with 2 early tarmos and a grip of control. My removal was no where to be seen and all of my handhate either whiffed or hit a control spell. I got a look at his deck with an Extirpate on Flameslash while I was trying to reduce damage from the tarmos. List was similar to Patrick Dickmann's Pro Tour 75.

SB plan was +1 Sword of Body and Mind +1 Sword of Fire and Ice +1 Sword of War and Peace -1 Batterskull -1 Sword of Feast and Famine -1 Sword of Light and Shadow

This paid off very well. Game 2 I ripped a massive amount of removal, decent land, an extirpate and a hawk. I chewed through every threat, extirpated tarmo, castigated away a twin, finally stuck a KotR and went to town with a Sword of Fire and Ice. Ripped more removal and hand hate, stayed ahead all the way to the end.

Game 3 we both mulled to 6 and I kept an all removal + land grip. Top decks were amazing in this game. He landed 2 hunt masters, I removed the 1st, he twinned the 2nd. I killed that and he was left with 0 in hand I had a Hawk. I played hawk and refilled. we battled back and forth with wolves and birds until I landed sword of fire and ice, he topped a Krosan Grip and we continued. I topped a Steelshaper's Gift and pulled Sword of Body and mind, and bluffed abrupt decay with a land in hand. He dropped Deceiver Exarch in response to equip. At end of turn I noticed that he had only 2 red sources so I tec-edged the steam vents. He couldn't resolve twin but ripped burn and killed my pridemage. I ripped KotR and stuck him, strapped Body and Mind again. He drew and fired off a draw spell. No land, pass. I attempted to swing for lethal+, he Gripped the 2nd sword and chumped with Deceiver. I topped removal and swung, a 2nd deceiver tapped him. I decayed the deceiver, he untapped and dropped huntmaster. I ripped another gifts, and pulled War and Piece, dropped and equipped and swung for game. Really close. Felt that tec-edge was the VIP.

Ended up having to drop. Gave him the win as I am not a huge jerk. Had a lot of fun.
