Mother of Runes + Worship is the best way to stay alive. Theres also some removal spells and Archangel Avacyn.

In sidedeck theres some tricks against different type of strategies.

Against big monsters (or lifelink) Tainted Remedy + Swords of Plowshares + Vizkopa

Against many little creatures (goblins etc) Thalia + Blood Seeker + Consume the meek + Zealous persecution (maybe sometimes Tainted remedy + congregate. )

Against control decksDuress + Liliana Vess + Nevermore + Oblivion Ring + Stony Silence

Claw of Gix is one good way to boost Ajanis pridemate.

Also there is one infinite combo if you are lucky :)
