Description

I've always wanted to make an artifact themed deck in Pioneer, but colorless proved too rigid against other deck strategies. By adding blue, it doesn't need color correction and expands the card pool for card draw, artifact buffs, and more.

The Artifacts

Ensoul-ables

• Ornithopter: 5/5 flier for {0}.

• Hangarback Walker: 5/5 that keeps growing bigger until it explodes into a bunch of thopters.

• Stonecoil Serpent: 5/5 + counters + reach + trample = stomp

• Darksteel Ingot: Mana rock becomes a 5/5 Indestructible.

• Darksteel Citadel: Land becomes a 5/5 Indestructible.

Useful Utilities

• Jhoira's Familiar: Not only does it make artifacts cheaper, it helps with planeswalkers and sagas.

• Karn, Scion of Urza: Create a construct that gets stronger with more artifacts, or card sift.

• Mystic Forge: Expand your hand with the top of your deck!

Hidden Gems

• Mechtitan Core: With plenty of artifact creatures, getting Mechtitan Core's ability to trigger is not an issue.

• Steel Overseer: Like Hangarback Walker's +1/+1 counter ability, but applies to all artifact creatures.

The Antiques

Out-of-Standard Stuff

• Padeem, Consul of Innovation: Hexproof for artifacts. You'll likely have the highest CMC for card draw.

• Tezzeret, Artifice Master: The master of artifacts. His ultimate just brings in permanents.

• The Antiquities War: Nice saga to sift for artifacts, then makes everyone 5/5.
