Simon's Trinket Box

Commander / EDH Mono-Blue

PauperBob

So, I watched the DnD movie after the digital release and really enjoyed it. Looked at the Secret Lair crossover and thought that Simon was the most fun of the cards to build around. I thought I would make a silly spellslinger deck where all the spells cost 3 or more and it would sort of fit in the group hug space as one of the roll outcomes would see all players drawing a card.

As I have gone on to tinker with this deck further is has just become more chaotic and fun. There is so much synergy with "vexing puzzlebox" that adding in the artifacts made a lot of sense. It can be surprisingly powerful as a control strategy, if you make sure you have a mass bounce spell, you can politics your way out of a lot of situations.

You are always likely to hit your land drops as Simon will always be drawing you cards at the very least. Which means getting to the bigger spells is relatively easy, and with many options to have infinite hand size, you quickly end up with a hand of 20 cards and so many options.

It isn't by any means competitive but it is a hell of a lot of madness and fun.
