Sideboard

My take on a Temur mid-range deck.

  • The Planeswalkers:

Xenagos, the Reveler - He is for satyrs, to create problems for opponents, and mana ramp. I rarely ever got to pull off his -6, but when I do, I get at least one Stormbreath Dragon, Surrak Dragonclaw or Soul of Shandalar .

Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker - Basically another two Stormbreath Dragons, but with Flame Slash. He is in here for more aggro and removal. His ult gives me all the card draw I need, but disallows the use of counter spells.

Kiora, the Crashing Wave - Creates time for me to get more creatures by locking down their creatures. Can also draw me a card. If her ult is pulled off, I basically win because krakens.

  • The Creatures:

Elvish Mystic, Rattleclaw Mystic, Sylvan Caryatid , and Courser of Kruphix - All for mana ramp.

Polukranos, World Eater - . Polukranos gives a big creature that can get bigger. It also has removal, which is just what this deck is lacking.

Savage Knuckleblade - Solid turn 2 or 3 drop that has 4 power, can come out swinging, pump itself up, and dodge removal.

Surrak Dragonclaw - A great creature that A) Can't be countered, B) Makes other creatures uncounterable C) Give all your other creatures trample, and D) Can be played turn 3, on your opponents turn.

Stormbreath Dragon - 4/4 flyer and haste. With protection from white. It is immune to almost all removal in standard right now making it a big problem for non-black decks.

Soul of Shandalar - A 6/6 with first strike. He gets through any big creature your opponent may have and lives. Burn ability is just a mana dump, if needed.

  • Enchantments:

Temur Ascendancy - All my creatures get haste. It solves the problem of my creatures dying before they do anything. It also gives me cards by playing my creatures.

  • Instants:

Mindswipe - A counter spell that only will have much use the first time it is played, when your opponent isn't expecting it. However it is a good fit for a deck with extra mana, by not only countering a spell, but also hurting your opponent.

Sideboard:

Stubborn Denial - A great card in the sense that it can counter Thoughtseize if you went first and got blue mana. Sideboard it in against removal decks.

Destructive Revelry - Solution to Master of the Feast and other pesky artifacts or enchantments. Side in against them.

Plummet - Solution to Master of the Feast, Butcher of the Horde , and Stormbreath Dragon. Side in against them.

Keranos, God of Storms - Replacement #1 for Mindswipe game 2. He will rarely be a creature but his extra draw or his lightning bolt per turn is incredibly useful.

Chandra, Pyromaster - Replacement #2 for Mindswipe game 2. Burn bypasses an annoying blocker or kills a x/1. Exile is essentially card draw. Ult serves no use in this deck.

Mistcutter Hydra - Side in against blue heavy decks.

Tormod's Crypt - Side in against Sultai.

Updates Add

2/0 1st Game was Jeskai Chasm Skulker just had to get for him to win. I never let that happen.

2/1 2nd Game was against mono green and my only loss of the night. Nylea, God of the Hunt with Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and Heroes' Bane makes scary big trample.

2/0 3rd Game was against Abzan. He used a LOT of removal which is where Savage Knuckleblade and Stubborn Denial really shine. If I have mana, it is nearly impossible to actually kill a knuckleblade. I just keep hitting him and Hero's Downfall couldn't do crap.

2/0 4th Game was also against a creature heavy Abzan but my creatures are a lot bigger. So I won.
