If a creature card uses its own name or a shortened version of it, it's referring specifically to "this creature." For example, Frodo, Adventurous Hobbitfoil's last ability effectively says

  • "Whenever this creature attacks, if you gained 3 or more life this turn, the Ring tempts you. Then if this creature is your Ring-bearer and the Ring has tempted you two or more times this game, draw a card."

There's currently no way for a card to check the partial name of another card. All the Frodo cards that mention only Frodo are using it as shortened version of their own name, mostly to save space or avoid redundancy. If you replace the word "Frodo" in each of the rules texts with "Frodo, full card name", or just with "this creature", that gets you the actual effect of the card.

  • If this creature is a Scout, it becomes a Halfling Rogue with...

  • As long as this creature is your Ring-bearer, it must be blocked if able.

So I have Frodo Baggins, Frodo, Sauron's Bane, and Frodo, Adventurous Hobbitfoil in a deck. I am wondering how the "Frodo" triggers would work if I had 2 or more of these cards on the field. Ex. "As long as Frodo is your ringbearer, it must be blocked if able" or the second ability of Frodo, Sauron's Bane with Frodo, Adventurous Hobbitfoil since he is already a scout.

Intet lost, should have mulliganed probably. Land screwed, cast Devastation Tide twice after Reclaiming it. Sylvan Library didn't find a land and so I missed a couple land drops. Taylor's Altair Ibn-La'Ahad deck did work with those exiled assassins but Thomas took it down with Frodo, Adventurous Hobbitfoil and Sam, Loyal Attendant.

@ Phule451 I've added some of your suggestions to my considering section and when I put a new card order in will be picking them up. I do feel like Trail of Crumbs is a lot better if running Frodo, Adventurous Hobbit and Sam, Loyal Attendant as the commander. This is because with Frodo and Sam there will be more of a tendency to sac food every turn.

Thank you for the comment and taking the time to check out my list.
