Can you reduce the cost of awaken?

The awaken mechanic is fairly new, so I'm not sure if I would be able to reduce the cost using something like Arcane Melee or something similar. It says if you cast the card for the required cost, you'll awaken a land. However, is this just an example or do you have to pay the exact awaken cost to actually awaken something?

It's good to link all the cards in your question. Even if you're talking about a group of cards, link one so we don't have to hunt down the exact wording of the ability: Scatter to the Winds
The answer to your question is yes. Awaken is an alternate cost to cast the spell, and alternate costs are affected by cost reduction effects. If you cast Scatter to the Winds for it's Awaken cost with Arcane Melee out, you'll only have to pay
