I tried to stay away from the Allies that put +1/+1 counters on themselves to work the Rally ability to it's fullest.

I didn't do too well at this event, but I won a playmat giveaway that made it all worth it! Here's the match breakdown: Practice Game: Spirits, 0-1 I had the upper hand for a while until he was able to resolve a Geist, and he slowly turned the game back around on me by equipping it with steel of the godhead or something. I definitely could have won this game by playing safer but it was my warmup. R1: Planeswalker Tron, 1-2 Lost game 1 because tron. Won game 2 with a swiftspear and an unflipped delver. This game they didn't do much of anything, bad draws or something. Game 3 was very close, I resolved a stony silence turn 2, but he was able to fight through it because I ran out of gas, he stabilized at 3 life and started exiling my stuff with ulamogs and I lost. Good cards were definitely stony silence, and counters for ulamog and karn and such. Quellers are awful in this matchup for the most part. R2: Utopia Sprawl Brew, 2-0 This deck was just pretty bad, it was built around a weird combo that I'm pretty sure doesn't even work? The only scary things were phytotitans or something and I just countered them. Easy 2-0 R3: Affinity, 1-2 Game 1 I made some kind of stupid mistake and lost, maybe kept a bad hand or something. Totally my fault and I was pretty tired by this point already. Game 2 was a close win, I won in the end by shooting down his attacking inkmoths with my staticaster. Game 3 I lost to a nut draw and I had bad draws, there wasn't much I could have done except maybe mulligan again. Mvps of the round were staticaster, stony silence, and burn spells. Quellers were pretty good too against etched champs. A lot of my mistakes in this match were related to shuffling away my scrys, I've been working really hard on trying not to do that but I forget a lot. R4: Artifact Brew, 2-0 This round was also pretty easy, he probably could have taken a game off of me but he never mulliganed and just kept his bad hands. He did manage to cast a few metalwork colossi but I just pathed or countered them. Easy 2-0 R5: G/W Tron, 1-2 This round was closer than the first round. Game 1 I quellered a lot of his early spells, like 2 or 3 quellers and just beat his face in with them. Game 2 I did not draw enough counter spells to survive the onslaught of things he was throwing at me, even though I brought in more. Eventually he resolved karn or wurmcoil or something and the rest is history. Game 3 was extremely close, I got him to 6 but he found 2 ulamogs in a row(I think he searched for one of them and drew the other) and exiled my lands and I couldn't come back from that. What I learned from this round was that quellers can actually be good against tron if they don't get tron naturally. I still take them out after g1 though because more often than not they are going to be casting things that I can't queller. Mvps of the round were queller g1, stony silence, and oblivion ring since they play so many duplicate artifacts.

I dropped the Kefnet the Careful gameplan in favor of more cycling goodness, Drake Haven is now the primary win con so it was bumped to 4 copies

The two Tormenting Voices are probably getting swapped out once I decide which of the four options best fulfills the slot. Tormenting Voice, Pull from Tomorrow, Hieroglyphic Illustration, or Shadow of the Grave.

Mana Base was readjusted to maintain balance after these changes

Added Akroma's Memorial and Omnath, Locus of Mana which in retrospect should have been included in the prototype rendition of this deck.

Changes and a little foresight

Trinket Mage has been removed from the deck for Recruiter of the Guard, who tutors more targets which are more important. It's a upgrade both power and flavor wise. I'm happy.

Blind Obedience has been removed for Authority of the Consuls. In my meta, Authority pretty much always gains live just by existing. Even with the discount of augustin Extort just didn't happen very often. Also it's a noteable increase on flavor.

Vesuva really didn't do much , so now I'm testing Port Town for more colorfixing and a little flavor for being a town. But still has to be evaluated.

I'm looking forward to to play Irrigated Farmland instead of Halimar Depths. Farmland is a plains, so it's fetchable and helps with emeria. it provides both colors and helps digging through the deck. It's a strict upgrade.It even has more flavor than depths.

Fine Tuning Post Gitaxian Probe

Now that it's been banned and I've tested a few things I'm settling down with adding a 15th creature and bumping my count for Geist of Saint Traft and testing the Spell Queller. I've had good success with the fastlands so I added two more with Inspiring Vantage. The goal was more tempo and less aggro so I think this has a good ability to spin between aggro and control nicely now. More testing this weekend. Advice welcome.

Looking More at the Deck

Just some brief changes. Decided to take out Capsize for Damnation, since I need more mass removal and I found that this deck does not abuse Capsize in ways that other decks can. I also took out Glasses of Urza, as painful as it was (but the flavor!!) for Jace's Archivist, since my deck does not rely on seeing my opponent's hand 24/7. Plus I have better enchantments and ways of discovering what cards are in opponent's hands that are worth getting rid of.

Gave Darien a little love in terms of synergy and control

Took out Martial Coup and put in Collective Effort because of the amazing synergy and versatility, and I hate dumping mana into X spells like that. It seems like a waste of a turn, plus 7 mana is a bit much to wipe the board

Put back in Expedition Mapfoil because I was an idiot for taking it out. Took out Field Marshal because he didn't impact the board enough for me or make me dudes.

Took out Decree of Justice and put in Catapult Master because recurring spot removal is amazing in white and it lets me close games out very quickly.

Put in Ankh of Mishra and took out Blood of the Martyr because ramp is a thing in EDH and it synergizes with Darien.

Biggest weak spot in the deck is coming back from massive board wipes and building my board state any. Any suggestions are always welcome. Thanks!

I went back through the deck and double checked the cards. Noticed that Dragonsoul Knight wasn't on the list, though it is in the deck. Fixed that.

OUT: Wildest Dreams, Commander's Sphere, Dragon Fangs. IN: Eternal Witness, Dread Summons, Extractor demon. Getting that creature count back up, little by little.
