Killing You Softly With My Infinite Sacrifice

Modern BGW (Abzan, Junk) Combo Infinite Combo Mill Persist Sacrifice

MortisAngelus

Maybeboard

This all begun as a Persist + Melira, Sylvok Outcast infinite combo deck. The problem back in 2016 was that Khans of Tarkir and a lot of other core sets hadn't been released so I was stuck on a Abzan color scheme and that made it quite inefficient for modern. Then I took a 5 year break from Magic. Now I'm back and a lot of good stuff has been released since then.

Now Melira has walked out on her own story, and been replaced by Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit and Vizier of Remedies. They also have additional backup from Solemnity. Having either of these cards out on the battlefield will nullify the persist-rule and thus enabling the infinite combo.

As sac-outlets Viscera Seer and Carrion Feeder are doing all the reaping.

As wincon there is Altar of the Brood and Blasting Station. Technically infinite life with Kitchen Finks is not a wincon, but people usually give up at that point. And even an infinitely big Carrion Feeder will end the game quite soon too. Blasting Station is not here because it is too expensive. XD

I still haven't built this irl, but in my mind this ought to be quite an efficient deck.

I realized that after switching Melira, Sylvok Outcast for Solemnity I had only fixed half the problems with the deck; i.e. having to use three mana colors. But I was still stuck at only having 4 cards that enables my wincon.

So I was already considering adding Melira back in, but decided to give Gatherer one more look, and behold, there I found a card I hadn't realized works with persist: Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit.

And since I no longer rely solely on Solemnity, I could remove Hall of Heliod's Generosity in favor for Isolated Chapel

==SUMMARY=========

OUT:

2x Hall of Heliod's Generosity

1x Solemnity

1x Altar's Reap

1x Viscera Seer

IN:

2x Isolated Chapel

3x Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit
