I have replaced Recoil and Voidslime with Overcharged Amalgam and Psychic Drain, since I believe that the newer cards better fit the theme of this deck.

I have an EDH deck with The Mimeoplasm as its general, and I would like to put a copy of Overcharged Amalgam into that deck, as that card would definitely work with that deck's theme, but I am not certain of what card I should remove, to make room, for it.
I could replace Voidslime, since the amalgam has the same effect as that card, but that would increase this deck's mana curve, and I also am considering replacing Recoil, since that card is only acceptable, at best, but that would also raise this deck's mana curve, but none of the cards that cost 4 mana in this deck are cards that I wish to remove, so I may not be able to put the amalgam into this deck, after all.
What does everyone else say, about this? How can I put overcharged amalgam into my Mimeoplasm deck? I certainly would appreciate any suggestions that anyone here can offer.

Hi Baron777,
Just responding to your post here. I hope you don't mind. Just for my own understanding, I think you need to clarify what kind of decks you want to play against. When you say "This is designed as a fun 6-7 level deck that..." This tells me nothing. When discussing your deck I suggest following this prompt:
- My deck has a budget of...
- My manabase has the most efficient lands available/most cheap and slow utility tapped lands and tapped fetches/a mix between the two
- My deck threatens to kill an opponent between turns x and y/The most important turns for my deck are between x and y when my deck can pop off when doing z.
Based off of the previously mentioned cards in your post - namely Solemnity and Torpor Orb it sounds like your meta has a lot of particularly nasty control magic that can absolutely one card you out of a game. Therefore I suggest adding both more ramp and more interaction - you're in the colors for it:

More ramp: Staples such as Nature's Lore, Rampant Growth, Kodama's Reach/Cultivate are missing

More tutors such as: Worldly Tutor, Sylvan Tutor and Enlightened Tutor

Try experimenting with proliferation: options as well Karn's Bastion, Inexorable Tide, or even Sword of Truth and Justice can keep Shield counters on your creatures making them continuously difficult to deal with

More removal: Adding spells like Naturalize, Voidslime, Farewell, Counterspell, Beast Within, Generous Gift, Mana Drain, Force of Will, Plasm Capture, Arcane Denial, Dovin's Veto
In summary, I think your deck doesn't match what it's playing against. You need to have more consistency if you are going up against opponents who are going to completely lock you out of a game. To get that, you need to make sure you can target problem permanents as often as possible.

Plaza of Harmony this garbage turns into a gem in this pile.
Voidslime great card that might be worth a spot.

Lol, I agree Angus looks a lot like Tim the Enchanter and is one of the reasons why I built the deck!
Group Hug simply means cards that everyone playing benefits from. For example, almost all of the card draw is for everyone at the table not just myself. The cards that are under "Group Hug" let people play more lands each turn, play permanents for free, and cast their spells as if they had flash. This is also why I made a category of "Only I benefit".
But, as you pointed out traditionally group hug decks don't have win conditions. I just couldn't help myself and try and win cutely and cheekily.
I have had a lot of fun playing this deck so far but, I am going to be adding a few cards to it as I found I needed more ways to protect myself! The following cards are for sure going in Disallow, Voidslime, Heroic Intervention, and consider possibly these cards as well Azorius Guildmage, Flawless Maneuver, and Ouphe Vandals

How have Steely Resolve and Voidslime been working for you? For the former, do you need the redundancy within the deck? For the latter, is it not difficult to cast given the color restriction?
Have you considered swapping out one of them for Deflecting Swat or even Imp's Mischief? They "counter" counterspells, and can redirect targeted removal, draw, extra turns and more!

The biggest threat to your deck is Solemnity. I'd recommend some counterspells including, but not limited to, Decisive Denial, Quandrix Command and Voidslime.
If you can't prevent Solemnity from entering the battlefield, Fecundity and Soul Net will turn your 0/0 Fractals into a boon until cards such as Fade into Antiquity and Naturalize can be used. Your commander's static ability will also feed into it.
You may also wish to consider cards that affect or are affected by +1/+1 counters. These include, but not limited to, The Ozolith, Swarm Shambler, Bramblewood Paragon, Herald of Secret Streams, Vigean Graftmage, Experiment Kraj and Plaxcaster Frogling.
Scavenging Ooze can give your deck some much needed graveyard hate.
Have you considered Simic Ascendancy with all these cards creating creatures with +1/+1 counters on them? You can move growth counters from Simic Ascendancy to Paradox Zone by means of Nesting Grounds.
Other lands to consider for the deck are Cave of Temptation, Forge of Heroes, Littjara Mirrorlake, Llanowar Reborn, Novijen, Heart of Progress, Opal Palace, Oran-Rief, the Vastwood, Temple of Mystery and Tyrite Sanctum.
Other cards to consider for your deck are Altered Ego, Bioshift, Clone Legion, Hardened Scales, Jiang Yanggu, Wildcrafter, Kiora, Behemoth Beckoner, MirrorBox, Repudiate / Replicate and Slippery Bogbonder.
