Vivien’s Intervention [Oathbreaker Elfball]

Oathbreaker Elves Mono-Green

Pathfinder051

Elves that can protect themselves!

Play Vivien for access to Heroic Intervention, add reach or card advantage, and powerful instant speed elf vomiting. This deck has almost everything an elf player could want minus the typical infinite combos. All the possible card advantage and the occasional paradox engine snowball effect should scratch that itch anyways.

Notes:

  • I stayed away from +1/+1 synergies to narrow my focus and use those cards elsewhere. Joraga Warcaller was a hard cut, but I hate whiffing into him with Kindred Summons, although adding Immaculate Magistrate can occasionally remedy that.
  • I also focused on digging for creatures (Sylvan Messenger/Lead the Stampede/Rites) rather than hard draw like Harmonize bc half the deck is elves, and getting 4 or 5 of them off of a Stampede is awesome.
  • The deck is all forests bc Rofellos appreciates it and so does my wallet.
  • Emerald Medallion is great bc it makes Heroic Intervention cost one less and sometimes I have to cast it multiple times a game. It also makes vomiting more elves before the beginning of my turn easier. Always try to instant speed your elves whenever you can afford it.
  • The Immortal Sun is some spicy tech I added to shut down my opponents' Commanders while hurting me a lot less. Pump my elves, draw more cards, and one more Medallion effect... what's not to like?

Honorable Mentions (so far):

  • Gaea's Herald and Tajuru Preserver: Can be great utility depending on your meta. I find them a little less impactful in this build bc of the lack of tutors.
  • Wirewood Herald: Flash, block, tutor... i just don't like sitting with it in my hand hoping something block-able attacks.
