I used them before however in some games they didnt help me out when I needed some kill spells. There's a chance they may go back in but for now going to wait and see the other dominaria spoilers before I update the deck again

All you have to do to make this commander legal is replace these cards: Dark Bargain, Yawgmoth's Vile Offering, And Cabal Stronghold With cards suggested to you.

Jacka2813, mtg_artifacts Usually new cards during spoiler season are always not legal until the set is released

I don't know if this is the direction you want to go, but I find that Painful Quandary can be a decent control card. If it doesn't really control, it can be an annoying nuisance to your opponents.

[Vesuva] would be a good land. It copies other lands which may help your mana production.

rshistorysmuf Vesuva isn't a bad idea with the new updates I did with this deck turns out Thrilling Encore is a very useful instant with board wipes I pissed off my opponent when I used it against his The Ur-Dragon

This is an interesting list. I personally would just max out on utility spells, such as Sol Ring and Lightning Greaves, remove all the creatures and replace them with instant speed destroy such as Murder and -X/-X spells such as Disfigure, avoiding X where possible as you can't cast these from the yard, and exile based removal. I would then go up tutors and add in revel in riches and other non-creature finishers as they're hardest to interact with. In all, you want to streamline and generally have the game on a lock by turn 5, making you kingmaker. This is all personal opinion, but it's what I would suggest.

Ratchet Bomb as a mono-colored Engineered Explosives? I know it could screw the board pretty well, in multiplayer matches. I mostly ramble in Modern, so I could be incorrect on my suggestion. +1.

This reminds me of old mono black control decks except you want to keep your commander in play which adds a bit of difficulty.

Maybe use Mirari to get more out of your spells? You can also add Pestilence and Sorin Markov. They seem to fit the theme and work well together.

Contamination and Infernal Darkness are other cards that might be worth considering.

Lastly, I have found Chain of Smog to be a fun and effective way to force everyone to discard their hand. You might find this to your advantage since your commander allows you to cast instant cards from your graveyard.

@megalomania why do pox/rack lists not run smog? They seem to get empty handed extremely easily.

This is the first time I even heard about that card

Megalomania. I may consider it and Mirari may go back in the deck since Sadistic Sacrament has been a all star in this deck. It always give me a victory

Thescarabbob there are a few creatures I'm thinking of keeping which will provide a edge in case I can't get toshiro out. Though replacing some of them with a few more kill spells isn't a bad idea. I also thought about adding Tainted Strike for a infect type victory.

cplvela0811 I'll run some tests with ratchet bomb and see how it will do

I do know Lord of the Void have not been useful at all and surprisingly Nirkana Revenant

Just a word of warning: only play Sorin Markov if you have a death wish. If you can't kill the table that turn, you most likely die from the fear of the -3. I play in a competetive playgroup and any counterspell will instantly hit him, resulting in huge tempo loss.

Good point Thescarabbob the problem is regardless on what decks I play or what I do with Toshiro people are literally scared of dealing with me. I'm still looking for a alternative to make them either scoop or die quickly hopefully I can find something :)

Have you considered No Mercy? You're always the last to die because noone wants to kill their board

Sorry i didn't forget i was just very busy yesterday. This is a very unique deck as i would've never considered using the commander, especially in the way that you have. The deck seems very solid, and your primer seems solid as well. I didn't know some of these cards existed, like darkness for example. Knowing what the deck wants to do I'm trying to think of/find any removal that may help the deck in ways.

There have been a lot of comments on this deck already, and I admit honestly that I did not read the majority of them. However, this was the most recent deck listed on the Advertise Your EDH Deck thread, so I'll add my two cents anyway, for what it's worth.

Really, though, the only thing I can think of that's not already on your list is that you have plenty enough creature kill capability to successfully run cards like Waning Wurm, Rotting Regisaur, Clackbridge Troll or Yargle, Glutton of Urborg.

Also, I might mention that I've always liked Sudden Death, Deathstroke and the classic Terror and Rend Flesh as removal.

That's all I got. Cheers!

In any mono-black deck I always suggest Withering Boon. It's so unexpected and you can cast a kill spell to counter another creature from the yard.

The recent change for Oubliette makes it amazing in EDH. Since it phases out, if you target their commander they can't chose to put it back in the command zone. Locking them out of their commander until its removed or you lose.

As far as finding expensive cards to cut, I guess I'd have to suggest Liliana of the Veil first and foremost. It's incredibly expensive and its not super strong in commander. I get that you don't mind discarding instants and that her minus ability allows you to cast them, but if you're looking to be more budget-friendly I'd suggest cutting that one first.

After multiple testing I will have to agree about liliana. While powerful in modern, but in edh no so much. Your opinion on Koskun Falls?

Dang, this is a really cool take on Toshiro. If I didn't like Creatures so much, i'd definitely give this kind of build a spin!

One question, I noticed on an old update you mentioned that Desecration Demon worked relatively well in the deck. I run a very Creature heavy version of Toshiro "Instant Tribal" - Toshiro Umezawa - EDH PRIMER that you commented on with some good suggestions, and i'm always looking for good cheap threats.

I've read that Desecration Demon is usually really bad in EDH (and other formats) as people can just sac creatures to keep him tapped until they find an answer for it. My thought was that it might be a positive for a Toshiro deck, as them sacrificing to him would give me Toshiro trigger, if they don't they get hit with a 6/6 Flier, and if they do use removal on it, it's only a 4cmc creature anyway...

It's a really cheap card that I might get one to try out anyway, but i'd rather learn from someone else's mistakes is possible ;)

When I was using a lot of creatures in my old variant, you'll be surprised what they sac for Desecration Demon plus the fact if they see a dangerous instant in the grave and have no answers, they would rather take 6 damage to the face. It's fun adding painful choice cards like Choice of Damnations or Virtus the Veiled just so a instant can trigger. Sometimes it's more fun experimenting underrated cards for nasty effects

Love the deck! Pox/Smallpox might be useful to force Toshiro to activate. Dark Ritual could also be cool to recycle- but it might have the same issue as Sol Ring. This is a really cool take on an underrated commander, so great job all around! :)

Mr.Beaver pox is situational while it will trigger my commander ability I normally summon toshiro when it's needed but it might change later on

I know this may sound really minor, but what about Jet Medallion?

Also maybe a boardwipe in there such as Damnation or Toxic Deluge.
