The moment I saw Approach of the Second Sun , I just had to brew something together that would be both effective and budgeted. My first thought: this card is depicting the iconic scene of Luke Skywalker on Tatooine, before his life changing adventure!

So, I look at it this way: the first time you cast your win con, you are the cringy, angsty Anakin Skywalker on Tatooine. The second time you cast it, time has passed: you are now the galaxy's new hope, Luke Skywalker.

"The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together."

The tactic for this deck is obvious: cast Approach of the Second Sun twice. There are three steps to in order to achieve victory:
  1. Get to 7 mana
  2. Cast Approach of the Second Sun
  3. Cast Approach of the Second Sun again

Keep in mind, this is a rather BUDGETED deck!

Step 1 is the most tricky. This is when you are most vulnerable, as you have to ensure you are controlling the boardstate (as to not, you know, DIE), simultaneously manaramping through Expedition Map or card draw , and making sure you have at least one copy of Approach of the Second Sun in your hand. My favorite, most inclusive way to do this is through my too-few copies of Remand , and Dissolve . They provide soft/hard control while sifting through your deck for either the land, or win con that you need.
Step 2 is by far the easiest. The first cast of Approach of the Second Sun doesn't even have to resolve in order for Step 3 to win you the game. Granted, it would be preferred, as 7 life just might keep you in the game long enough to win.
Step 3 is when your opponent is well aware of what's going on, and they become far more aggro than previously. You must step up your 'second sun search' as well through things like the scry lands (in which you should immediately bury the scried card if it isn't a copy of Bolas's splendor ) or a returned duct tape purchase. Additionally, it is absolutely best to complete step 3 with eight mana: an additional Plains . This is due to it being necessary to have your second cast of Approach of the Second Sun resolve. With the additional land on the board, and a preferred presence of Sphinx of the Final Word , complete step 3 with a Silence being cast before the Second Sun.

May the force be with you! Suggestions and plus +1's are appreciated!
