Sideboard

I was looking around on SCG and decided to look for UWr control lists that recently did good. I get to a certain page after almost an hour of failing to find an actual control list I notice a UW control list and become excited that I finally found an actual control deck. While initial impressions were sort of meh I quickly become enthralled and amazed at a few certain cards.

Dragonlord Ojutai + Silumgar's Scorn

It was mesmerizing. Counterspell? In modern no less!

Sure enough I built the deck and decided to take it for a few test spins, while it did fine on those runs it was lacking that certain oomph I was looking for. While the interaction with Mutavault was cute it never felt like I had enough dragons to make Silumgar's Scorn an actual Counterspell rather than a mere Cancel.

Fast forward a few weeks to my first MM2 draft and I notice this little beauty:

Nameless Inversion

While I initially took it for removal potential or as a wonky pump spell I was reading the card a little closer and realized that it's also a dragon! Thinking to myself that this could be the missing piece of the puzzle, I brewed up the gem above and steamrolled a few FNM's and Thursday Nights with it beating out things such as Amulet Bloom, Grixis Delver, Scapeshift, and even multiple Tron variants (this is what made me happy). That's basically the story of how I got to where my decks at today!

I hope to improve this deck so that I can enjoy it like I once enjoyed Birthing Pod decks. Suggestions are always welcome!
