Cryptolith Rite and Burgeoning don't seem like great choices for ramp in this deck. You've only got 12 cheapish creatures in the deck to make use of Cryptolith and both Golden Hind and Dawntreader Elk's abilities make them pretty redundant with it. With only 21 lands in the deck, Burgeoning seems really unreliable; most of the time it's only going to be useful if you can cast it on turn 1 and it doesn't help you get out of mana-screw. I would swap them out for something like Rampant Growth and Nature's Lore, or, if you don't mind having off-tribe creatures in the deck, Sakura-Tribe Elder and Elvish Mystic.

That's definitely the best elk tribal i've ever seen ;)

I second on what Lame_Duck said on rite and burgeoning. Gift of Paradise or Weirding Wood might be useful alternatives. As you're already giing for 8 power for elkherde, i'd suggest Mosswort Bridge to spam out some more elks. Also, how about Kindred Summons as a lategame breaker?

I do have a faible for unusual tribal decks as well, maybe take a look at some of them?

love me some underused tribal! Doubling Chant could really pump up your game ;) Stay frosty!

Adaptive Automaton

Mutavault (if you can afford it)

Those are my suggestions. +1 for creativity.

All I have for you is this, do with it as you will:

"Elkton John: Horny Prancers"

wish I could do more, Merry Christmas anyway =)

Honestly, not really sure why this needs the white, especially if budget is a goal? Seems like Gavony Township isn't adding that much, for such an expensive card (something like Oran-Rief, the Vastwood might do a similar job if you really want counters), and maybe for removal instead of Banishing Light, something like Beast Within, if you really feel like you need it? Doing that would, at least, make the deck a lot simpler, which is generally a good idea (and it'd make sure you always have forests, instead of being stuck with plains-only hands in a deck full of green cards).

For card draw in creature-heavy decks like this, I really like Lead the Stampede, and if you are generating enough mana, you can't go wrong with Harmonize.

Finally, I'd like to point out that Chameleon Colossus is 100% an Elk and would fit right in with the others.

Cool deck +1. I see you have Banishing Light which is a great enchantment. I would give the suggestion to swap it for Oblivion Ring. While they do almost the same thing I personally feel that Oblivion Ring is the superior verson simply because it does not have the limit of just an opponents non-land permanent but any non-land permanent. While very rare the ability to hide one of your or an allies(in THG) non-land permanent has the potential to be relevant. You can do it without messing with your mana curve since the cost the exact same amount of mana. Coat of Arms could also be useful in this deck though it doesn't help the budget factor. If you consider lords Adaptive Automaton is pretty budget. That's my two sense worth take it or leave it. In either case really cool off beat tribal.

no Metallic Mimic to increase early power and such? But totally and interesting deck. Makes me want to buy a large rifle.

I think to have only one white card in what would otherwise be a mono green deck doesn't serve you to well... I would replace the Oblivion Ring with Beast Within if you're looking for decent card removal... that way it's all green... and you can swap those five plains for five more forests... otherwise... +1

_raeofsunlight I'd have to agree with special_lil_guy on the having the white removal in there. I'd recommend Nature's Way for you. Keeps your guys available for blocking. Acts as burn and gives trample. It's kind of an all around win for you. Also might then be worth it to run Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx given the devotion to green would be huge and help keep a lot of pace going for you. The only other thing I might say is if you don't go a removal route run Primal Rage maybe some kind of way to get some draw going so you can keep pace.

Nature's Way is really good! Oh, you may want to verify Herald's Horn being in your deck as it appears to be illegal in casual. Maybe an Emerald Medallion could replace it.

Yeah, the horn thing is just because the card is new and tappedout doesn't have it listed as part of the format yet.

Elvish Archdruid is one of favorites, along with Beastcaller Savant for mana. Good luck!

You only have 16 land, I would bump that up to around 20 - 22

Have you thought about adding Burnished Hart? You can sac to search for two lands and it's an elk.

Benefactor's Draught untaps all your creatures, draws you a card, and discourages blocking. As a note, you pretty much have to play this card after you declare attackers, but before the declare attackers phase ends--once they declare blockers, you will not get additional card draw.

Explore gives some ramp and draws you a card.

Viridescent Wisps is a 1 mana combat trick that also draws you a card. It isn't great, but would be passable in a casual, budget deck.

Abundant Growth is another 1 mana card that draws a card, and provides minimal mana fixing. Again, not great, but could find a place in this deck.

I heard the final Duel Deck was supposed to be Elk versus Vehicles, but product line was cancelled before that was finalized.
