Sigiled Skink

Creature — Lizard

Whenever Sigiled Skink attacks, scry 1. (Look at the top card of your library. You may put that card on the bottom of your library.)

I tried building around Knowledge and Power before and personally just couldn't make it work... any game i won it was despite playing knowledge and power rather than because of it.... im really jaded about that card lol.

I think if you want scry to be the payoff mechanic of the deck then going more in an Izzet blitz route with Sigiled Skink and Flamespeaker Adept and Opt / Titan's Strength would be the way to go..... otherwise i'd say trade out Mystic Speculation and knowledge and power for just about anything else like a Crackling Drake or something similar.

I feel a little bad for the 2 people in existence running lizard tribal who won't be able to run Dromosaur and Shivan Raptor to trigger their Shared Animosity alongside Bellows Lizard and Sigiled Skink anymore. XD

The7thBobba Thanks for your kind words and suggestions! I might add some ramp, and maybe take out the two Predatory Advantage. Bloodspore Thrinax and Sigiled Skink seem pretty decent too.

Love me some lizards! You might like Brooding Saurian, Bloodspore Thrinax, Sigiled Skink, and Skitter of Lizards. I love predatory advantage, but I find it feverishly costly. You could try and squeeze some more non creature-based ramp like Talisman of Impulse in there :) stay frosty!

I agree for the most part and seriously considered Mardu Scout. After testing Sigiled Skink, which should pretty much read tap: sacrifice sigiled skink scry 1, the deck sorely needs something else. -4 Kolaghan Stormsinger -3 Sigiled Skink -1 Frostburn Weird, in favor of 2 Boggart Brute 3 Mardu Scout and 3 Sanguinary Mage

Thanks for the feedback Killkow, but I can't use most of the cards you suggested, because it's for a format created here where I live (Brazil) that only allow decks that cost U$10 or under. By the way, these are realy good suggestions, but only one Keranos, God of Storms or two Thassa, God of the Sea already exceeds the budget, so they are a no go. I think the only suggestion I can follow is sideboard some Scouring Sands, as there are some goblin and elves deck where I play and that can deal with them. Oh, and the Mizzium Skins are already on the sideboard ;). I also think the Sigiled Skinks are terrible, maybe I will swap them for some Omenspeakers or Augury Owls (at least the owls can fly :P). I realy wish a could follow all of your suggestions, thanks again anyway.

I have a similar deck that used to be in standard. Wasn't competitive then, either, but perhaps I can share some useful advice with you.

  • Temple of Epiphany needs no explanation. Relevant scryland, very good.
  • Thassa, God of the Sea very good card. I run 2 in mine. Auto scry each turn with potential unblockable. It's sort of Aqueous Form #5 & 6. The point isn't to get her online, but make extreme use out of her.
  • Keranos, God of Storms doesn't seem like it has much synergy on the surface, but being able to set up your draws is amazing with him. He's one of the best mid-late game U/R finishers.
  • Electrolyze is a hell of a card. Sideboard if nothing else.
  • Scouring Sands speaking of sideboard. Hurts tokens and scrys.
  • Lightning Bolt A playset goes a long way. Even though it doesn't scry, it's usually a 1 mana removal spell, a finisher, or at the very least something awkward for your opponent to have to play around
  • Delver of Secrets  Flip No scry synergy, but can win games by himself, and you run enough instants and sorceries to make him worthwhile. Plus, with scry he's not even a late game dead-draw.
  • Serum Visions has great synergy with this deck, but 1 is worth more the the entire thing currently.
  • Preordain is a great alternative to Serum Visions, and arguably better while you're digging for 1 thing in particular.

  • Sigiled Skink is awful in my opinion. He has to attack to activate, and he dies to everything. Not the worst with Aqueous Form on it, but you've got much better targets.
  • Wee Dragonauts could see a cut if you put in Delver of Secrets, etc. Optional, for sure.
  • Mizzium Skin is more of a sideboard card in case your opponent has removal.

Fun stuff. I also went megafauna with Intet, as these seem to be the best colors for that flavor. Siege Behemoth fits with your theme and would be very useful with all the combat damage you want to deal. Fires of Yavimaya for hasty beasts. Thunderfoot Baloth for mass pump and evasion. Plated Crusher is nothing short of a dinosaur if you need some resilient beats. Jungle Basin could be a fun land for the flavor, and also semi-ramp-ish. I really like that you have Sigiled Skink in here along with a lot of the others; very fun stuff all around.

Suggestions: In commander, being a generally long-running multiplayer game with lots of politics (depending on the people you play with, of course), aggro can sometimes run into the problem of everyone else at the table getting annoyed with you and ganging up on you/ nerfing you the rest of the game. Generally you want to pack enough punch to quickly dominate the board and really threaten players with extinction, so you can use that very real and obvious threat to advantage, political or just taking rivals out of the game too fast for the rest of the table to stop you.

That, and the fact that everyone has 40 life, means "aggro" in this format tends to go one of three ways: A) a ridiculously huge army of token creatures, B) winning via commander damage, or C) using BIG creatures, like you're going for here. Usually you want your creatures to have at least 5+ power to be relevant to your goal of smashing people in the face. As far as the smaller creatures you have here - other than those with utility (Sigiled Skink, etc.) - I'd think about getting rid of the ones that are only there to do damage (Pygmy Allosaurus, etc.). While awesome in the flavor department, they won't be useful outside of dealing very light damage and chump blocking. It'd be better if every creature you summoned made a significant impact - and also, look for ways to really capitalize on Intet's ability to play stuff for free. Mana cost is no issue with Intet + green ramp + the length of commander games. Throw in more fatties, is what I'm saying.

More scry or "play with top card of your library revealed" stuff would be very useful to you, as well - that way you can gauge whether or not it would be beneficial to attack with Intet and pay to use her ability. Oracle of Mul Daya, Future Sight, stuff along those lines.

PS: Also, Leyline of Anticipation is excellent with Intet, as it allows you to play cards exiled with Intet as instants. Other than the obvious benefits of this, if Intet is about to die, you can just dump all the spells you've exiled with her ability so they aren't lost when she leaves the battlefield. Since it has a primeval palm-treed island in the art, it should fit right in!
